does he get credit?
In reading a lot of the postings there was a lot of hyperbole that Floyd was too afraid to fight pac, worried about his 0 etc.....
But now that this fight is happening and there is so much rhetoric that Pac puts him to sleep, IF Floyd wins decisively, will he get credit? Or will the ducking reasoning persist? Your opinions and comments?
Even thought Manny has ripped the benefits of juicing by avoiding testing, Floyd still schools Manny. Even Roach admitted they have a better shot at Floyd then 5 years ago. Floyd will be dominating a prime and Ped ripped Manny.
Sorry but when FLoyd puts stipulations such as "I want ALL PPV money", you all say that FLoyd is the A side and he can do no wrong. Back then Manny was hot and coming off an excellent year and did way way better than Floyd from a PPV perspective too. Yet, that didn't stop all of the crying that followed by Floyd and company and that included the accusations and so on.
Look, Manny was OK with extra testing from day 1. He just didn't want to accept Floyd's new rules. Manny had his reasons. If they were Floyd's reasons, then you would understand and defend those reason to your death!
Others reacted way worse than Manny including GB, Floyd's promoter, (example below) who later accused Manny. That is crazy.

Mosley vs Judah - 2008 (Cancelled)
More recently in 2008, according to ESPN.com, Zab Judah requested Sugar Shane Mosley to agree to blood testing before their non-title welterweight fight which had been scheduled for May 31 of that year in Las Vegas. However, the fight never happened because Golden Boy CEO, Richard Schaeffer, refused the Olympic-style drug testing requested by the Judah camp, stating, "Whatever tests they want them to take, Shane will submit to that. We are not going to do other tests than the Nevada commission requires. The fact is, Shane is not a cheater and he does not need to be treated like one."
If you are not willing to take random blood and urine testing for any sport, no matter who you are should be suspicious
Look at all the athletes between 05-now who got caught
Fighters fight....NBA,mlb, soccer they play their sports, we die by it and from it
Their wouldn't have been no speculations w/o cut off deadlines.....Olympic athletes perform for free and go through rigorous testing, but a fighter who may have been I'm the biggest event in his sports history can't? That's where it stemmed from
If FLoyd does, He gets credit for beating Pacquiao past his prime.
And FLoyd fans, Don't start crying,
If Pacquiao does, he also gets credit for fighting someone past his prime.
Those are just facts, no one cannot deny that they're further away from their prime now, especially Pacquiao after suffering KO-Lost.
You cant just erase those facts, take for what it is, a fight well overdue, and it's better than nothing at all.
Depends on how much he cheated.
Holding, Ref allowing him
Dodgy scorecards.
The Memo effect, If he had been doping
If Floyd wins a fair fight, with zero cheating and with no PED use, then he will deserve credit for beating a great but smaller fighters like Manny Pacquiao
Who cares about who accused who?
If you not cheating, train, take the tests and make some dough.... They are called prize fighters for a reason.... I'd fight both in one DAY for 100k
If it was Floyd who refused or wanted cut offs folks would dig him a new ass
No double standards for me.
It wasn't the accusations from Floyd that was bad...it was a great fighter passing up a test because he scared of needles, took the test before anyway so why you scared now....PAC FAn or not that was bull

He will get credit for giving the fans a fight they want, but 5 years too late. The fight on the 2nd may should have been the triology fight, not the first fight.
But he will get less credit than he would have, because he is JMMs used goods now. And he wont ko Pac like JMM did.
Who gave a **** about a trilogy?
One fight at a time...getting fight one was hard enough
Team PAC admitted it fell through because of them
PAC has trilogies because he struggles with his elite comp at times....morales(3) barrera(2), bradley (2), marquez (4)...may weather has only 2 rematches his whole career
There was never gonna be a trilogy IMO unless PAC won the first fight or it was close(fans pleading for it)
Lets keep it in perspective.
Floyd and company ACCUSED and asked for PEDs testing for the first time in his career. The other side (Manny) didn't accuse.
Who cares about who accused who?

lol why wouldn't he?
Butt hurt PAC fans won't, skip bayless, and career long money may haters
Both would get credit if they win in my book, but since he koed hatton, after every win in comes the ready made excuses
One guy asked for a test that they BOTH would take. Let's put that in perspective.
A lot of people make it seem like Floyd only asked for Pacquiao to take the test and not himself as well, which has never been the case.
Lets keep it in perspective.

It's simple:
IF floyd beats Pacquiao, he gets no credit and defeated a past-prime Manny. Verdict: No credit for the victory.
IF Manny beats Mayweather, he gets to go down in history as the greater fighter of the two. Verdict: Manny gets all the credit and the factual/statistical recognition of being the 1st fighter to give Floyd a loss.
In reality, all Floyd stands to gain from this is another career high payday and preserve his 0; which should be good enough anyway.
This is the truth I think, Floyd really only stands to gain the money which is fair enough because it's all he cares about anyway.
I think if he wins, it will be like the Cotto win, there will be a lot of talk of how he would have fared against a prime Cotto (or Pacquiao in this instance).
Rightly or wrongly, the perception out there is that it was him who avoided the fight for half a decade.
Hahahaha look at these pathetic losers. Sums up everything that's wrong with so called boxing fans.
Isn't that what he's supposed to do being the self proclaimed best ever and fighting a guy he only considers to be "solid"?
Shouldn't be a big deal then.
Whoever wins gets full credit, I mean... why wouldn't they? Sure the fight is long overdue and all but it's finally happening and both fighters are going in with their best performances in mind.
I'm actually rooting for Pacquiao but Mayweather taking it wouldn't surprise me. Both fighters are excellent at what they do and have established themselves as the top 2 fighters in the world, regardless of weight divisions.
Agreed.
in the real world, yes. on nsb, no.
Sadly, you're probably right. I value boxing discussions with objectivity. Don't get me wrong, there are some insanely good posters on this site. Those writers/posters are the ones I look forward to reading after the fight.
Back on topic: Yes, Floyd would get credit. Unless, he pulls a Victor Ortiz or anything dirty. (technically, the Ortiz KO was well within the rules.)
Basically, I agree with ODH's assessment if Floyd won.

It is well known the Manny and team delayed the fight by outright refusing to take the same damn test that he has now (5 years later) agreed to take.
Fight would've happened while both were prime had one guy not played the delay game.
But that was then, this is now.
The majority believe this fight will be for all the marbles regardless of opinions.
One guy asked for a test.
Thats called a monkey wrench
thats also when no one was the A side.it was 50 50.
no one thought pac was juicing before floyd and sr said it.
that fan base ran with it.
Show me threads and posts that show posters saying pac is juicing with any evidence Before floyd or sr said it..ill wait
