Was a great fight on paper, and an actual great fight although I wished it went a few more rounds.
Kermit came out full of confidence and he was having some success at first keeping Margarito at the end of his jab controlling the pace, and enter round 2 same thing for the first half however somewhere in the middle of the round he stopped throwing his jab and was allowing margarito to get off first. By the end of the round the pace turned and become a more of a inside fight.
In round 3 I believe Margarito took away all of Kermit confidence by not being phased by any power shot Kermit was landing on him, These were the same power shots he landed on every pior oppenent and pratically knocked them all out. The 3rd round Is where I see the give in kermit and where he mentally already was waving the white flag.
All the other rounds was just kermit going through the motion, lil by lil withering away mentally more then physically. Margarito broke kermit spirit that night and he never recovered. Now kermit wondering around life like a beaten abused dog scared of everything, jumping out of rings to protect himself lol.
Funny how Margarito had this amazing power pre-plaster... after he got caught, his power left him... Mosley KO his a$$ easy... could not KO a Bum in Robert Garcia, Pacquiao beats him to a pulp... Cotto puts the nail in the coffin. End of story, Margarito could have been great with that granite chin... what a waste.
He never had "amazing power". Stop being a simple minded sheep.
Ask Pacquaio how good his power was. He was a wreck after their fight despite dominating it.

The plaster in Margarito's gloves had hardened by the second round. That is what caused Cintron to stop throwing the jab.
All I could remember from this fight was the commentators saying Cintron only just came back from surgery over and over again, the actual fight? Well he fold as soon as Rito apply a bit more pressure.
He wasn't trying to stop roberto garcia, he had a long lay off due to his suspension. He wanted to get some rounds in preparation for pac.
He couldn't stop Garcia. Scored a flash knockdown and the two fought in close quarters for the next few rounds and it was pretty clear that not only was Garcia not going anywhere, but that Margarito wasn't the same fighter. The fight reminds me of Jose Louis Castillo versus Rolando Reyes. When the all-out inside fighter is forced to use his legs and move, it means he's fast fading.

and he almost folded pac in half with a body shot....Pac who is much more durable than Cotto-Cintron.
All that plaster nonesesnse just proves no one even payed attention to the trial.....
people who actually touched the "brick" said the dried gauze was not harder than a fricking credit card...elements of sulphur and calcium...like in lotion...No doubt it helped him get better grip and punch a bit harder, but to pretend he is Luis Resto is insencere.
Mosley and Pacquiao destroyed Margarito physically and that's all he had.....all this speculation about his power being gone is just to fit the agenda....
That said, **** Margarito, he was fun, but thats what he gets for being a moron and trying whatever he tried against Mosley.

lmfao :lol1: :lol1: that last part was too damn funny

That was a pretty sh*tty fight. Cintron folded like an accordian as soon as Margarito upped the pressure. Was way too inexperienced (and overhyped at the time) to square off against a battle-tested champ.
This,,,
But honestly, i won't lie,, in 03-04 i thought cintron was going to be the next tommy hearns. going from 147-168 throughout his career... And i was almost 100% certain that cintron-cotto would be a super fight at some point..
:pat::pat:
theirs a interview with him where hes sitting/leaning against a ring in a empty gym somewhere and they ask cintron about margarito and dude pratically almost started balling out crying, it took his all to keep it together. Margarito Ruin that dude as a boxer and most importantly as a man. that dude will never be the same.
lol..i ****in miss tony margarito!
Margarito is a bad mofo. He's a soul taker, he owns cintron's soul.

The second fight was more enjoyable. Cintron had won a world title and had supposedly improved. Fair play to him taking the rematch, he really thought he was going to put the demon to rest. I remember him starting well and bouncing power shots off Margarito's head but Tony just smiled back at him :lol1:
Must have been demoralising as hell. You went back, re-grouped and became a champion but this guy still knows you'll always be his b1tch.
Basically what it boiled down too, in that fight he mentally collapsed fast and hard he was just half not sure if he wanted to go down or stay up and ifght lol and it wasnt even physical imo it was all mental untill Margarito took that choice away from him and made it for him and folded him up with that vicious body shot.
