Why was Zab waiting? Because he was being countered. This happens with almost every opponent Floyd faces and Pac will be no different. Once he starts getting countered, he will be more reluctant to just let his hands go anytime he wants and will start to think more, just like the rest.
you gotta rewatch the fight again my brotha....Floyd's bread and butter pullcounter was missing in that fight..he countered with his jabs mostly knowing zabs left was ready to launch anytime..Floyd did damage when he lead,(lots of ight lead and finished with a left hooks mostly)..not when he countered, he only did that for points
shane aint a southpaw and his hands got glued to his body from the 2nd round on for some reason. Floyd does try to walk his opponents down vs southpaws but if you noticed vs zab (the closest to pac's caliber), Floyd started his success when zab was not throwing and just waiting...something you will never expect from pac...could've been the body work by jr or zab being a mental midget..

Not likely.
I don't think Pacquiao would be discouraged enough to the point where Floyd can walk him down. Plus, I also think Manny has enough speed and power (as well as the awkward angles) to make Floyd think twice before doing that.
Yeah! Just like he did against Mosley!

guys who try to walk pacquiao down get demolished...i.e. cotto, margarito, de la hoya, diaz, rios, barrera, list i'm sure goes on and on.. would make no sense. counter punching is the way to beat pac and floyd is the best at it in the game..why the hell would he try to do that? only way is if he has him hurt..in which case he still won't do it...he'll walk him into something i.e. ricky hatton
yeah but isn't he a fu-cking moron?
Oscar De La Hoya said Mayweather Sr. was one of the best, if not the best, trainers he had worked with. Mayweather Sr. also raised his son to be one of the best fighters in the world. Don't let the guys slurred speech fool you into thinking he doesn't know boxing.
I mean how many guys did Lewis "walk down" at heavyweight? Lol he fought on the back foot for 99% of his career despite towering over most he fought.
Ironically he "walked Grant Down" despite Grant being even bigger. He just knew he'd whip his ass if he closed the gap.

Floyd walking down Pac is not a wise strategy is it fan friendly hell yeah, but unless he wants to give the fight to Pac on a platter he should avoid that strategy. Why walk forward on a guy who likes guys to pressure him? Pac can fight going backwards, he learned to fight going backwards after the loss to Morales but Morales didn't pot shot walk down he bum rushed Pac and went toe to toe with him, you gotta go toe to toe with Manny.
Floyd will use the Marquez strategy of back stepping and trying to catch Pac coming in wild and try to knock him out or hit him flush with a right hand or a leaping left hook, and jab to the pit of the body. Floyd sr said dont be surprised if Pacquiao gets knocked out with a jab to the pit of the body.

If Floyd can walk down the much bigger and stronger Mosley then he can most certainly walk down the roided midget.
I don't know about size having anything to do with walking someone down. Some guys are more warrior than other.
Size doesn't mean much in that regard.

Margarito and Cotto couldn't walk down Shane Mosley but Floyd could, I know the Pacquiao fans say Shane was old but Manny is not much younger either now. So its definitely conceivable that Floyd could walk down Manny.
I think as the rounds go on and Manny starts to lower his pace Floyd will walk toward Manny and light him up with straight right hands similar to what he did to Guerrero in round 8.
At some point he will. However, for the majority of the fight he'll stay out of Pacquiao's range. He'll do it if he has the fight in total control.
Can he do it? Yes.

He can if he wants to get knocked out. Why the fuk would he walk Pac down and play into Pacs game? Margarito tried to walk Pac down and got picked to pieces, Floyd walks you down slowly with pot shots and a high guard, Margarito walks you down throwing punches in bunches, Pac loves the high guard he loves guys who cover up and are defensive.
Floyd will do the right plan which is to box and move, he is going to throw the right hand and get out of the way and repeat, and hold. Pac allows you to hold him until the ref breaks it, the only time I seen him try to break free from a hold is when he has a guy hurt he yanks his arms out and continues his attack.
But if you are not hurt and just hit him and grab he will just allow it and let the ref break it.
I can see it happening. If he starts timing Pacquiao and wears him down with body work early on, the walking down part will come in the later rounds. I can see Mayweather landing the straight right extensively. Curious to see Heredia and Ariza impact on Mayweather's power. Think they are working on this aspect most.
Does walking an opponent down encourage a firefight? If it does, then I don't expect Mayweather to do this. If Mayweather presses the fight, he is going to open himself up, and give Pacquiao opportunities to land.
I have a feeling Mayweather is going to make this a boring fight, and play it safe and try and box all 12 rounds, maybe Robert Guerrero style of fight. I think both are training hard for this fight, especially Pacquiao, think the fire is back in this fight, similar to the Pacquiao we saw against Marquez 4, prior to KO.
pacs too fast and dangerous to be walked down. this is an extremely unlikely scenario. Floyd is human. Brandon rios twin Marcos Maidana put hands on him. hell Floyd even struggled to hit this walking punching bag
So you think Maidana and Rios are equal , lol yeah right buddy .
