The opening PBC show cut the ring card girls, and I never really noticed during the broadcast so I guess I could say I didn't miss them.
I'm guessing they were cut as a way of appealing to a wider audience on network tv to improve boxing's image.
But what is the general consensus, if ring card girls were to disappear altogether how would you feel about it?
They really don't show up on TV as much. I think a lot of us watch things like weigh ins and press conferences so we see the ring girls more that way. That seems to be something that UFC has really pushed recently.
I went to the Canelo/Trout fight in San Antonio and the ring girls got major love from the crowd so I think its a bigger deal for those at the fight.
They hardly show them on tv as it is so i don't really care if i'm watching on tv, but if i'm going to a live event I better see some ring girls in between rounds. Not many things better than seeing a good live fight with a cold beer in hand and watching some bimbo strut around in between the violence.
They should have girls dancing on top of pedestals situated in the audience like at that one David Lemieux event in Montreal. That was fking nuts, lol.
hell yeah its a must. Not even on the perv tip just its tradition. Be like if baseball doesnt have the first pitch, or you dont flip a coin at a football game. Some things you just let it be because it has become part of the game as much as the actual game.
Even on HBO and Showtime they NEVER SHOW THE CARD GIRLS! Card Girls are for the LIVE AUDIENCE to be honest!
Would be nice but not Mandatory, as much as I like Jen Mateo, I don't buy PPV's or watch Top Rank Events JUST TO SEE HER!
truth is, whether it's ESPN/HBO/SHO, they usually never show the ring card girl's ass which is what I really want to see. Pretty faces and big tits are nice but we never get the ass view
Haha HOF post, feel the same way.

LOL...
I guess I'm not the only one....
The 11 year old in me would have stopped flipping through channels upon seeing a half naked woman fake smiling in a boxing ring and I'm sure that's the business approach.
I just find them awkward now. Especially at weighins/pressers. I've been to events where there were 100 people bustling around trying to get things done and you have some girl with no pants on just standing there getting bumped into grinning like she's at the dentist for 2 hours...
