According to sundayworld its in the works:
US rapper Jay Z looks set to hand Thomas ''Tommy Gun" Oosthuizen the biggest pay cheque of his career should the South African boxer take advantage of the offer before him.
The wealthy star from Brooklyn has become a boxing promoter and is planning a face-off expected to take place in the US in May or June between Oosthuizen and his boxer, WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward.
The rapper's Roc Nations Sports enquired about Oosthuizen's availability from his promoter Rodney Berman this week.
''Thomas could earn a record R3-million for that fight. I know I can push for him to earn that amount," said Berman.
But Oosthuizen has one hurdle to negotiate if he is to mingle with Jay Z in May.
He has to beat compatriot Ryno ''The Lion" Liebenberg in a fight for the vacant IBO light heavyweight belt at Emperors Palace on Saturday night.

Would be pretty pathetic of Froch to give up both his belts to avoid two top SMW mandatories.
Depends on the situation. If the split is 75-25 in favour of Ward and he has to travel, it seems almost idiotic for Froch to accept that.
Good point. 75-25 to the Super champ?
They'd be better to negotiate the bout, which they probably will. I don't see Froch taking short money to fight in the US.
I think the Loser of the pursebid gives up his title. If it goes that far that is. I cannot see that fight getting made.
Hearn bid $2.1M for Andre Dirrell-DeGale. How much higher will he go for Ward-Froch? 3.5M?
The problem for Team Froch is that the split percentage is going to favor Ward if it goes to purse bids.

Ward already stated that he wouldn't accept the terms as dictated by Froch. Froch wants the fight in England where both fighters would make the most $$. Problem is, Andre doesn't travel to fight no one. If you want to fight him, you have to be the one to travel.

It's been ordered by the WBA so if they don't agree terms, it will go to purse bids.
If Eddie Hearn wins the purse bid, it goes to England. So Ward either vacates or gets on a plane.
Or Roc Nation wins the bid and Froch goes to America or vacates.
Like I said, someone will have to budge since it's been ordered and someone will look bad if they vacate given the public statements that have been made by both.
One of them will look pretty bad if it doesn't get made.

I'd sooner see Ward sit out the rest of the 2015. Ward beat Froch, Kessler, Bika, Abraham, etc., what else does he need to prove? Tommy Oosthuizen is not even fit to be a sparring partner for Andre Ward - why would he fight him? Boxing is not charity
Can't see Tommy Oosthuizen coming down to 168 again.
He's now into his mid 20's, and has the frame of a heavyweight, at 6ft 4 and a 78 inch reach.
It must be hard enough making 175.
Tommy is actuall a talented fighter, who has had some personal issues outside the ring.
This led his promoter, Rodney Berman, to drop him, but it appears he has been given another chance. Let's hope he grabs it.
Also, all I've seen is an offer from Ward, nothing actually confirmed.
Oosthuizen is fighting Ryno Liebenberg this weekend at light heavyweight, and it appears that if he wins, there are reports that indicates he might get a fight on the Klitschko vs Jennings undercard in April...
The report I read is from a month ago, so it might not reflect the current situation.
As talented as Tommy was early in his career, he should wait til he gets his career fully back on track before jumping in with Ward. He had the alcohol issues that kept him out most of 2014 and then didn't look good in November.
I imagine when Virgil Hill was in Brandon Gonzalez's corner, and Brandon being a very inferior version of Ward and then getting robbed of the decision, that Virgil was all too excited to make this fight for Andre.
Dirk is RIGHT. Offers should be made on monthly basis so they would be valid. Any offer older than one month is automatically invalid.
The supposed "offer" was made to a man who is now not only no longer Ward's promoter but is actually dead.
:pat:
Trolling 101: If you are being hammered with facts disproving your notions, just move the goalposts.
Propaganda 101 : If you can't prove something, make it up and try to fool the public into believing your version of events. Try to silence those that disagree by putting them on Ignore :lol1:
