I was having this discussion on another thread and decided to make my own one with a poll: Golovkin vs Leonard at middleweight. The current version of GGG vs the SRL who fought Hagler in 1987. Leonard is clearly the greater fighter but due to size difference and the pressure GGG would put on it would make for a very interesting fight. Thoughts?
I'd rather compare guys by making them both the same weight class. Either make GGG a natural 147 pounder or Leonard a natural 160 pounder. Leonard boxes his ears off.
If Hagler couldn't beat him then GGG couldn't. It would be a competitive fight though especially at that point in Ray's career. I though if Hagler had applied pressure from the beginning he would have won a clear decision.
if it's the version that fought Hagler I would have to take GGG. SRL was standing his ground at times and fighting off the ropes. Hagler was well past his prime. His timing was off. He had issues pulling the trigger and GGG hits harder. I think he stops that SRL.
Too slow and plundering for SRL. SRL will fight him like Duran II.
That was actually a close fight until Duran quit. I pick GGG by close decision (only because GGG starts off slow), which according to the poll - I am the first to feel that way.
SRL by decision, and maybe even stoppage. I can't see how GGG would be able to land on Leonard. I'm not even sure he could defend himself.
Interesting matchup. But GGG has never faced anyone remotely similar to SRL. Such a highly developed fighter, with such game changing speed. Truly one of the greatest boxers of all time.
GGG suffers from the lack of meaningful competition, as we all know.
No....you should just try to be funnier. Come up with something better. "The Triple Duck" - what the fuk does even mean you corny cunt?
That nickname is both lame and inaccurate. :nonono:
I have a better idea. Why don't you please STFU...

Who exactly did GGG duck????? Nobody that's who. You have it backward. Good fighters duck GGG. GGG ducks nobody. If you think Leonard beats him that's fine but you shouldn't call him a duck. He just beat the 2nd best middleweight in the world by a lopsided KO. Please tell me what middleweights GGG is supposedly ducking. I could use a good laugh.
No middleweights I know of but he blatantly ducked Ward a few years ago after stating he would fight anyone from 154-168 and Lara has called him out on a few occasions. That's called ducking when other fighters do it so GGG doesn't get a pass. And Before you start babbling.. what you think the result of these fights would be has nothing to do with GGG ducking them
And Hairbrush, if you would like to further debate the facts about Leonard's two offers to Pryor, please do so by placing a $2,500 bet and I am talking cash. I have Sugar Ray Leonard's email address, his lawyer, Mike Trainers email address, and Aaron Pryor's wife's email address and have conversed with them through email a number of times.
You would be well advised to not accept my monetary challenge, that is if you have that kind of money, or I promise you, you would lose that money. Cease with the myths!
Gennady Golovkin by KO. SRL was a chicken, He ducked Aaron Pryor like the plague.Dude! Stop with the myth!!!! Leonard made TWO offers to Pryor!!! And one offer to Pryor came from Duran as well! Between 1980-1981: Pryor was offered $750,000 to fight Roberto Duran but turned it down because his new attorney told him not to sign anything until he worked out a new contract with LaRosa. By the time they worked out a new agreement, the chance to fight Duran was gone.
1982: Pryor signed to face Sugar Ray Leonard for the undisputed welterweight championship in the fall of 1982. His purse was going to be $750,000. Pryor had previously been offered $500,000 to fight Leonard, but he turned it down. Before fighting Pryor, Leonard first had to defend his title against Roger Stafford in Buffalo, New York on May 14, 1982. Pryor was on his way to Buffalo to taunt Leonard (business is business even between close friends) and help hype the fight when he heard on his car radio that Leonard had suffered a detached retina. "I pulled off to the side of the road and I cried," Pryor said.
Hairbrush, Consider yourself completely owned!
Leonard by W I D E UD.
Exactly WHO has the Triple Duck fought that would prepare him for an ATG of Leonard's caliber?
Who is he ducking? You still haven't answered that.
