This is the first I'd even heard of the shooting. I'm really glad he's recovering....he always was a true credit to the sport. The only fighters who regularly get mentioned are the ones who hold belts of some kind or another, yet there are far more out there who are either never fortunate enough to get a shot, have the wrong connections, or just come along at the wrong time. The most unappreciated fighter by the casual fan is "the journeyman"; but God knows the ones we call champions would never have learned their craft if their management hadn't had the wisdom to put them in with the right journeyman at the right time. Emanuel Augustus was such a fighter. I'm glad he's recovering.

I didn't like all the weird stuff he did. I thought it made a joke out of boxing. The guy could fight well in the traditional style and I much preferred him when he fought his best to when he fought like a freak clown.
