- IF WE ACTUALLY NEVER SEEN THE FIGHTER FIGHT THEN, HE AINT TBE TO ME --- My great grandfather told me he was good should I believe tall tales and *****
I can watch every fight MIKE Tyson had and at age 19 he destroyed almost every top heavy weight and since I can rewatch it and watch IMMA say he's ****ing great --- I can only see a hand full off Robinson ---- he's great to my great grandfather but not to me..sorry.
U guys can't name 5 greats he's fought and 5 of those U won't be able to me their legacy traits --- why cause u don't know robinsons greatness except what old timers say..
The only greats U should be talking about is people U can actually say U seen but if u ain't seen it UR going off another dudes word of mouth play --- make your own mind up instead of what old histtorians say
Best ever is fan BS, there can never be because ever means there will always be someone to come that could beat the ones before, its meaningless fan BS pushing their own agenda
I think fans loves this stuff because they themselves will never achieve anything so they project themselves into what others do, it's like their truth is the champion, its all fantasy.
Well srr has to be the best he beat the most trash ever..... that means he is the best nobody else who was the best skilled in their ever had the chance to fight that much trash
If Ali Frazier lyle foreman bowe and many others had the chance I would say they would be called the best to if they had the chance to destroy the amount of trash that ray had to fight

Man, it's crazy how people are proud of being ignorant these days :lol1:
A person can't stop at calling people stupid. A person has to explain it to them....or fall back on "cant be bothered. I only have the time to point out stupidity."
Her choice of bikini top is brilliant, though.
You don't know who Sammy Angott and Jose Basora are? :lol1:
You at least know who Jake LaMotta is, right?
The Pillow Punching Bull, yeah. Everytime Ray is mentioned so is Mr Bull.
179 wins = a Bull that a China shop could survive.

Wow 3 names who still look like the rest of the names in movement and skill novice compared to 70s your stupid
Looking over his resume....so many of his opponents had obviously padded stats.
Some that stand out more than the others -
Luc van Dam...89 wins
Bobby Dykes 71 wins
Jose Basora 77 wins
George Costner 70 wins
Steve Belloise 90 wins
Young Gene Buffalo 113 wins - MUST BE an ATG
Sammy Angott 78 wins
Maxie Berger 74 wins
Carl Guggino 114 wins - MUST BE an ATG
Joe Ghnouly 74 wins
:lol1:
SRR had 179 Ws
How many were vs legit opponents and can a MFer be honest :dunno:

let me help those with a closet full of TMT gear.

seems to be some confusion between the 135 and 147 version of the fighter.
troll somebody else idiot
The footage available on youtube is not when he was in his prime and he looks like a beast, let alone in his prime.
sure he does in 40s compared to 70s looks like a novice so even if we had video would he look like a fighter from 70s? No so you make no sense
like i said, i only seen a handfull of his fights and that not enuff bruh

to these idiots here in their mind they think he fought all skilled people which is why the number of wins he won is so impressive
cause i respect the 70s more with way less wins with people who actually had good or great skill

Quality > quantity everyday and 7x on Sunday.
It's a farce
Fighters back then were mass produced in some slop shop.
So many nobodies with 100's of wins :lol1:
SRR may have very well been the best of his time, but of ALL TIME ?
That guy doesn't exist.

I guess there enough people around to know the current TBE probably wouldn't survive Hearns and Leonard (dismantled his dad with same type, bigger, more power and no brittle hands). Now, we can work with everyone before him.
Yea you never seen floyd before idiot cause floyd was the master of the style its nothing like how his dad used
I also question why SRR is everyone's automatic "best ever." Clearly he's one of the very best -- he looks fantastic in film -- but he's fighting mostly old school white guys (sorry) who aren't necessarily in the same league as the guys Sugar Ray LEONARD whipped.
SRL beat Duran, Hearns, Hagler and Benitez. I don't think Robinson's "hit list" can equal that.
Jesus fucking christ. I'm so glad I get reminded as to why I'm not on this forum much anymore.
If someone fights as little as once a year is it too much to expect them to fight the very best available opponent? You use scare-quotes around the word prime as if it's dubious terminology but I could do the same to your 'quality' designation.
Other than the fact he made a lot of money and stayed undefeated, I am just not that impressed with Mayweather. No Williams, Margarito or Cotto at 147 so when one looks behind the hype it's a little underwhelming.
Four belts per weight class, many of which are unnecessary junior classes, so these modern guys can go years without fighting anyone of note. Gervonta Davis being a prime example. Lots of excuses are forgiven by modern fans for fights not happening too ("he's the A-side, bruh").
Relatively speaking, I don't see the modern era as being much better and in some ways it's far worse in terms of promotional politics and the social media clown show.
Look over SRR's resume and tell me you're thoroughly inmpressed
Until then.....
SRR is one of the goats as if you fought his career you'd have 20 losses, more than him anyway.
You can't be GOaT with 50 fights, unless you braking records left, right and centre. Like Pac did with 8 divisions titles, longevity records etc

Okay, but then it becomes a value judgement, does it not? You and others seem to have swallowed this idea that elite fighters can only fight twice a year at most these days. If Mayweather had been fighting five times a year it would exponentially have increased the likelihood of him picking up a loss, then where would he stand? Are you similarly impressed with Calzaghe? I'm not, he's the archetypal sanctioning body belt holder the modern era is replete with.
IMHO,
NO ONE fights 3 or more QUALITY guys a year.
In the days of SRR, MFers were fighting 1 decent guy and 10 bartenders and short order cooks a year.
People cry when guys like May don't fight ''prime'' guys yet hail a guy from way back for fighting 10x a year :lol1: !!!
Talk about padding the resume.
Modern fighters are superior than those of the prohibition era.
Bigger, faster, stronger, more technically sound.....
