UFC Boss stated in tweet on December 8th 2012. Right after the Pacquiao-Marquez 4 fight.
Gotta strike when the iron is hot boxing! Lost manny/Floyd 4ever. #gspvssilva #silvavsbones #superfights!

Funny to look back at what he is saying and how wrong it is.
Karma is a funny thing. 7 months after he posted this tweet, Anderson Silva got KOed by Weidman in July 2013 and the UFC lost two of it's potential super fights. Then they permanently lost the fight after Silva snapped his leg in December.
It's also important to mention that GSP vs. Silva was a super fight that was supposed to happen a few years ago but the UFC didn't want to potentially lose one of their cash cows and delayed the bout.
At least boxing delivered on one Super fight, I could name several more the UFC couldn't deliver on.
And not one of the fights mentioned materialized under the same promotion.WAR BOXING!
fu.ck dana white!
99% of UFC is just sh1t boring fights. The only entertaining fights they have are between guys with decent striking like Jones vs Gustaffson and that comes around once in a blue moon.
I'll watch mma every once in awhile. that McGregor vs Aldo fight is gonna be good.
All I got to say, and not bashing ufc (I only watch cuz of Cain) or will watch when no boxing is on. Need my fight fix. But I read the other day that the potential 200 million purse for May vs pac will be more than the UFC paid all it's fighters from 1996-2011 combined which I found to be insane
You mean among white people. I'm white, I can attest to the fact that most whites who watch combat sports prefer the UFC because it's full of white people. Hispanic, black, and Asian American fight fans prefer boxing.
Thanks bro . My feelings exactly of MMA . BUT...If I said that i'd be labeled a racist .
The only thing the UFC has that trumps boxing is that fighters do tend to fight one another when they should and take less time to arrange it all..
but that's down to the fact they earn no money and are borderline on failing a drug test and ruining their career all the time so they take every opportunity as they come.
thats hilarious :lol1:
tired of them always taking shots at boxing for no reason, nothing but insecurity. they know boxing has the superior competitors by far, i bet their juiced up GOAT being a failed boxer eats them up at night.
just like it eats them up that they not only had to resort to taking in a pro wrestler to get some interest in their HW division, but that pro wrestler went on to win the title despite having no heart or fighting spirit whatsoever. now they are bringing in another make believe fighter so he can lose and save them some face. :nonono:
Boxing needs this Mayweather vs Pac fight along with the new exposure PBC will get to bring this sport back from the dead. Seriously, you guys are living in an alternate reality if you think boxing is nearly as big as MMA is right now and one can only hope Pac vs Floyd and the upcoming PBC can help restore some of the sports credibility over time. As for the here and now the UFC is the premier product for fight fans, at least from a mainstream POV.
Boxing on a global scale absolutely pounces anything UFC does. Boxing has one of the biggest fan bases internationally. Boxing is more of a major sport than mma in the US because of the Hispanic demographic. Which is now approximately 20% of the population.

How many ppvs will UFC need to sell to match Mayweather-Pacaquiao?
.....
That's the silliest thing I've read all month. Thanks for that.
Personally, of all the sports fans I know a few actively watch UFC and nobody watches boxing. Boxing really needs this upcoming fight and the PBC stuff because its seriously hurting.
