Froch has power to keep GGG back and he wouldn't let Froch have free hits like GGG's done in the past and tonight. At best if this fight happened with current GGG against prime Froch, GGG gets a UD at best.
If Martin Murray (All due respect and I am a fan) with pillow fists and a "decent chin" can stay in there for 11 rounds then a power puncher with an ATG chin will defiantly go the whole 12.
Froch too old now so yeah prime Froch only in this discussion. I'll even add a poll so we can see who are the smart fans and who are being fanboys.

GGG beats Froch on points..
A PRIME Carl Froch gives GGG all he wants & then some...
Skill 4 skill I favor Froch...Carl has one of most underrated jabs in the game...very unorthodox , he can throw it at different angles & levels efficiently with power...He's taller & longer than Golovkin & I think he's as fast if not faster....Can't see a stoppage either way....
Froch boxes well enough, is durable enough, & fights well enough to get a decision over Golovkin IMO....
I love that GGG only gets matched in fantasy fights against ATGs or prime top 3 fighters above his division, its really more of a compliment than anything else.
Or that his current division is rubbish

Froch would take GGG's best shots, smile at him, and then proceed to take his soul.
Some of the punches Kessler landed on Froch in their second fight were ridiculous, and Froch didn't blink. I'm confident that he would be able to handle Golovkin's power.
Agree.
Froch schools a vastly overrated GGG.
Granted he's a mouthpiece but Froch's brother has been touting this fight recently on Twitter. He then had 'second thoughts' and suggested that Kessler III at the City Ground would be a better fight. Wonder if Eddie had a word in his ear!?!
After watching the Murray bout I wouldn't be suprised if Froch fancied his chances. Froch's tendency to plant his feet, drop his hands, and throw predictable left right left right punches in close may actually bode well if he shortened his hooks. Golovkin throws his wide and is there to be countered inside as we all saw.
If Froch pressured him straight down the middle, there's a possibility that Golovkin wouldn't have an answer.
Been saying for the lasr 18 months or so that Froch vs GGG is one of the very best fights it's possible to make. I've a suspiscion GGGs superior technique wins him the UD - doubt he stops Carl - but he'd be in the fight of his life.
Froch would have the height and reach advantage, but the guys come to the ring at about the same weight these days.
Granted Froch is a very good fighter but some of the obvious gets lost here, he also likes to leave his jab dangling.
im not saying he gets one punch ko'd, but when golovkin finds him it will be devastating, and im sure he can take a good amount, but he'll be broken down quick, it will be a tough fight for both guys but froch will take more punishment and eventually drained of strength before getting taken out with some brutal looking shot that has him sitting down like that one abraham opponent that caught an uppercut
froch fights with his chin in the air

Froch's getting older. Never say never. He's a tough nut for sure, Groves hit him with a complete flush bomb and he weathered that, but not so sure he can keep doing that. BHop can take a shot too but he is considerably more crafty than Carl and usually takes less punishment so not sure the comparison is valid.
not comparable at all, froch fights with his chin in the air and when hurt his reaction is to grit his teeth, he has no defense
you barely see hopkins get hit clean, let alone on the chin
Nobody can knock Froch out, it's just impossible. We all know that. It's like knocking Bernard out, you need to get him when he's 50 to have a shot at that.
GGG wouldn't be able to stop Froch and I think the fight would be very close. But Murray looked kind of big in the ring, but I think Froch would be a lot bigger.
It's a dangerous fight for Froch, but it's an equally dangerous fight for GGG.
And last night. Whenever Murray went forward and pushed him back, Golovkin stood there eating every punch. No head movement, no defence, no counter-punching
I noticed that a while ago too. Either way he's not going to walk through Froch like he did with Murray.

GGG knocks him down but doesn't stop Froch.
Froch also walks GGG down and makes him look pretty limited when he's being pressured.
Great fight. I would love to see it
Froch's speed and footwork are his biggest weaknesses... but i think your right. After thinking about it. Dude has a pretty good beard and has the pop to keep GGG off who wants to fight inside.
