Now that the PacMay fight is announced can Canelo back out the Kirkland fight and fight Cotto in June? Lets get real, Kirkland is an inactive fighter missing his secret weapon Anne Wolfe in his corner, I think he will be beaten easily by Canelo. And Cotto can't keep the WBC belt hostage and duck GGG until September to fight Canelo can he? Seems like June is the best time to fight for both camps IMO. Thoughts?
Canelo could of waited instead he was too focus on trying to rob his holiday back now he's force to move away from it, so move away little boy.
Cotto wanted to wait, Canelo wants to fight. big difference. What are you gonna say when Cotto vacates his title instead of facing GGG? puto pendejos talk too much sh.it
Yea it is one where both guys need to chill really, because that can be the next big fight after the big fight which is a good spot to be in. They really do need each other although Canelo-Kirkland can serve a purpose.
Will be hard to make it now though it would require one guy sucking it up admitting fault and doing something to really make it happen. That is usually not that way in boxing though.
It is a lot of money so stranger things have happened, but I wouldn't be surprised I Cotto blew off June with those options then pick up Canelo talks after or the winner in May.
It's not going to happen. This fight should be happening. I think both guys were wrong. I'm not sure why Canelo had to rush and I can totally believe Cotto was being difficult in negotions also.
This fight makes no sense for May 9 anyway. It has to be some time after Pac/May to get proper build up. I just hope Cotto doesn't fight Rios. That would be such a horrible fight. One I would never watch.
Read the link I added, the fight was to be in Vegas on May 2nd Cotto wasn't demanding that... You guys just said they could move it to June and NY IF THEY HAD TO because May/Pac got made. Cotto said I'll take the fight in Vegas in May if he had to but I better get a bigger purse. That didn't happen. Canelo went in asking for Vegas, May and 50/50 and left demanding the same thing, only one diva.
yeah yeah
jotto didn't want it simple as. diva
at least canelo fights ppl in his division and guys with 2 legs
canelo bowed down to cotto's demands.
and still diva didn't want it.

Just because Canelo has fought in Texas/Cali/Vegas it doesn't necessarily follow that he will NEVER fight on the East Coast or in June. He has proven that he will fight the best on a consistent basis on dates he doesn't prefer (i.e. non-Mexican holiday weekends). Fighting in NY is not even the issue. It just makes much better business sense to fight on May 5th (a Mexican holiday), where Canelo was a part of the fight that set all of the PPV records. Canelo has sold just as many PPVs as Cotto on non-Mexican Holidays, and when he does fight on those Holidays he sets records. Cotto probably wanted it his way, when he can't really sell fights like that. I'll agree with you on that.
Like I said, the conclusion you're deriving from your premises doesn't follow. It's just a guess dressed up as an argument you present as some sort of psuedo-fact.
How is fighting on May 2nd earning them more money with May/Pac being done? Floyd would go up against them no matter who he was fighting, even if Floyd would only get 500k buys that's less money that they would make with no competition.
May 2nd is taken, so June in NY because the CHAMPION is from NY, Canelo is supposed to come take the title. But he can't fight outside of Vegas or Texas, ever. He never has, and Cotto's done it against Margarito, Manny and Floyd and Canelo decided to fight Kirkland instead, for less money all because he had to fight on his day... that he isn't fighting on anyway.
Cotto is still the WBC middleweight champ right? Why should he bow down to Canelo's demands? Is Canelo really that much bigger of a star than Cotto that he gets to call the site and date for a championship fight that he is challenging for? That's the prize for wanting this fight right? Or are they fighting for the 155 lb super junior middlewelterweight title and Cotto leaves the middleweight strap at home?

Waited for what? Oscar and Canelo made it very clear that if the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight got made, then they would move the date. Just like they're moving the date for the Canelo/Kirkland fight.
You're just too proud to admit your diva fighter twice has rejected a fight with Nelo.

Canelo is not an east coast fighter so there is no way he or his team would want his biggest fight post Floyd to be on the east coast, with the other guy packing in his fans. we're making the exact same points, only you are upset at my conclusion because you took it as an insult to Canelo when it wasn't.
So Hopkins didn't get better as he got older? Even Floyd has gotten better as he's gotten older in my opinion. Anyone can run from a punch, to stand in the pocket and not get hit clean is 100x's more skillfull. Look at JMM, he's obviously gotten MUCH better with age... Please, anyone can get better as they get older.
cotto ain't no hopkins.
difference is canelo was young.
he can theoretically improve.
cotto is not.

He's beaten both guys already, but he can still make money with either guy.
