I have a crazy idea. How about the lineal middleweight champion fights an actual middleweight?
He just fought Martinez... that was his last fight. Who is he fighting next? Oh that's right, you have no f*cking clue like anyone else or if the title will even be on the line.
If Cotto keeps his title then both fights are a disgrace. A real middleweight champion would fight GGG and GGG would fight him any place any time. He has no business fighting welterweights and small welterweights who are not champions. If Cotto steps down from his middleweight title then Maidana vs.Cotto would be an excellent fight. You should have good punching power to beat Cotto and Bradley does not have the power to hurt Cotto so Cotto would beat Bradley easily and probably by KO. With no real power to hold him back Cotto is an aggressive boxer puncher and he would go right through Bradley. Maidana is a different story with his vicious combinations and he has the power to knock Cotto out. To me Cotto vs. Maidana is an even fight at 155 pounds with a slight edge to Cotto for being the bigger of two good fighters. Bradley is a good fighter but he is too small and lacks the power to fight above 147.
Cotto would knock out maidana. Cotto's punch arsenal is too vast and maidana can be hurt, especially to the body. Either fight is terrible. Like the guy above said I'd rather him fight a true mw who presents a challenge.
I would rather see Cotto fight an established middleweight. Even a guy like Willie Monroe Jr. I don't think fighting a lighter fighters moving up is the way to go. Seen that with Mayweather too much.
You mentioned Nelson Jr. and that is a good contrast of styles. I am a huge fan of Nelson Jr. Still will never get out my head his fight against Yudel Johnson where Johnson landed the ugliest left hook. i thought Nelson was going to be gone they way his head turned, but this dude got up immediately and commenced to put on a boxing clinic. Considering Floyd has not fought anyone moving up in 6 & 8 years, dont see how that is too much from him.
he sure seems to fear a lot of men these days
He's only waiting for WW's what are you talking about? Bradley, Rios, Mayweather... do you see him calling out anyone at 154 or 160 besides Canelo? If you're going to trash talk, be creative and actually relevant.
Neither.
Looking at the middleweight list, I would like a Daniel geale type fight for him since Quillin and Golovkin wont happen. But one name that was very interesting was Daniel Jacobs.

Any WW moving up to fight Cotto is going to lose, even Floyd and Manny. King Cotto, El Rey, fears no man and rips out every WW's heart and eats it.
