According to Kevin Iole, Iron Mike Promotions "is no more and all of his contracted fighters are now signed with Al Haymon".
Thoughts? Is it a good move?
EDIT: This seems to be the list of fighters that have moved under Haymon's wing:
Erickson Lubin
Sammy Vasquez
Ievgen Khytrov
Yudel Johnson
Umberto Savigne
Carlos Velasquez
Daiki Kameda
Umberto Savigne
Claudio Marrero
Moises Flores
Samuel Figueroa
Yudel Johnson
Isiah Thomas
Yasmany Consuegra
Walter Castillo
This is as a definitive list as I could find of the fighter's that have entered Haymon's stable:
Erickson Lubin
Sammy Vasquez
Ievgen Khytrov
Yudel Johnson
Umberto Savigne
Carlos Velasquez
Daiki Kameda
Umberto Savigne
Claudio Marrero
Moises Flores
Samuel Figueroa
Yudel Johnson
Isiah Thomas
Yasmany Consuegra

Interesting. If Iron Mike sold off his company, he must've gotten a pretty penny for it. Enough to make him wanna do that.
Well, the company was on the rocks from what I heard in late 2014. Haymon got in there early I guess to take it off Mike's hands. Although who knows, maybe Mike didn't sell off the company completely but rather just allowed all his contracted fighters to go with Haymon for a fee of course while he explores other opportunities or takes a break from boxing related stuff. I'm sure more details will be released soon.
... Haymon took over: De La Hoya, Iron Mike and so on...
... I'm waiting for the moment when Pac, Canelo and Wlad will sign with him also...
Na, Wlad won't sign, I think K2 promotions are doing fairly well. GGG though, could be interesting in the next few years.
Foreign fighters are mostly just grateful for the opportunity.
It's like big US companies like outsourcing their jobs because foreign workers are willing to work for less while domestic workers, or fighters in this case, expect more.
In the unlikely event that GGG and Kova get really big and decide to jump ship, then two more will replace them, world is full of boxers willing to step in the ring and ultimately it's not just about names it's about the match-ups.
Maybe so, but once you move to America, things are different. Fighters do this to support their families. They see one guy making huge money and they want same.
I'm not suggesting Haymon can just come in and get everyone. But the better fighters and those with an established base are going to factor in how much they are losing.
It's going to be interesting.
Right now, no. But even the foreign fighters are not stupid. They see the exposure and they see the purses. Most importantly, they see Haymon taking far less than the promoters. How long you think that's going to last, especially when these boxers move to the states.
Like kovalev and ggg, you don't think they see HBO is paying them a relative pittance for ratings that would get an American or Mexican twice or three times the amount?
Times are changing. Athletes in general have a much better idea of the game. Why pay so much for promotion when you can have a Twitter beef go viral and touch 10 times the people for free?
Haymon, like him or not, is at the forefront of the changes.

Sad for Tyson, but it's good that they're going over to Al. Al takes care of his fighters.
at the expense of robbing the fans of the fights they want to see....
I agree, but it's a long way from a takeover of all the top talent that some are claiming.
There are a massive number of top boxers unaffiliated to Haymon, he doesn't even have a 20% of ring ranked fighters. Sport is too big, global and changeable to be taken over.
What he has done is sign many of the big name American fighters, which pushes HBO (and eventually Sho) towards international fighters like Klitschko, Provo, Kova, Pacquiao, Froch, GGG etc.
Ultimatley good for fans since more boxing on TV in the US, but it's not a Haymon takeover, he's really just another player in the game.

He needs these types of fighters to serve as opponents as he builds his young fighters and give established names a "name" to beat.
Isn't that what he should be doing.

36 year old Savigne...Haymon taking over doe.
He did get Khytrov though.
Half the fighters Haymon has signed are filler bums and cans and half his "star" fighters are over the hill.

Al haymon slowly putting together a UFC type league with all inhouse fighters... As long as he matches everyone tough like ufc then I don't have a problem.. Eventually it will swallow up the competition
and maybe reality show about several boxers living together, kinda get bored with 24/7 or all acces showing us the same Sh1t over and over again.
The only relevant fighter Mike had was Savigne. This is no big deal

The takeover continues. Like I said the other days. Thre will come a point when so many relevant fighters sign with Haymom, relevant fighters not signed with him will become irrelevant.

Isn't that a violation of the Ali Act doe? Advisors/managers are supposed to be separate entities from promoters to avoid a conflict of interest. Otherwise, you have one party fulfilling two roles that have two differing purposes, one is to market and maximize profits while the other looks out for the well-being of the fighter and his best interests.
If only one person does this, they will ultimately ensure that any and all deals work out for their best interest.
Yeah i'm not too sure what's going on with that. It's like fighters no longer need a promoter when they have Haymon, because he 'manages' them and essentially does the job of a promote without officially being one.

ha! and when has haymon done that?
Im not talking about raiting, im talking about fights. In 2013 Showtime dominated HBO..
Hayom is the future.
And lmao. Calling me a dumb****a s you sit back and call 50 cent the 3rd most powerful man in boxing at one point and talk as if Roc nation was ever relevant.
Haymon most likely fails miserably with his shady business ethics, always making power plays, and the bridges he has burned along the way. Maybe just maybe he takes over boxing. Very slim though.
Tell me, have you ever heard of a Ponzi Scheme? Haymon signed fighters will eventually tear him apart in court. You can't promise all your fighters the world and play favorites with a select few.
Well however he wants to call himself, whether manager or promoter, essentially he is just doing a mixture of both roles.
