What was unprecedented (at that time) was the enhanced drug testing. Weight clauses were not unprecedented, you just mean the dollar amount of the penalty. Floyd had agreed to the same clause against Marquez and weighed in at what he was comfortable with while paying the chump change relative to the millions he was making. In my post I did say the fee, not the clause.

There was a history of Floyd paying the standard overweight fee as boxers had before him. As for tests, both boxers would be taking tests, not just one of them. As for name calling, see what Frazier and Griffith did to opponents that called them names. They didn't cowardly walk away from the fight.
