i dont think either are ducking to be honest i think both their ego's got in the way and yes canelo is a drama queen as well

Cotto isn't "ducking" so much as selling his MW title to the highest bidder since he knows he won't be able to keep/defend it. He probably overestimated how much Canelo was willing to bid and negotiations fell apart, is looking to Floyd now. It's not really ducking because whether he chooses option A, B, C or D, he's going to lose it anyway. It's just cashing in. agreed....

The Pac/Floyd fight hasn't been settled and Canelo wanted to move foward. I don't think there is ducking by any part but more the inpatience in the Canelo side. But who is to blame him when he has been waiting for a while already when the Clottey fight got cancelled I can agree with this ^^^. I don't think there was any ducking. Niether guy is afraid of the other. It's more the situation of $$ than anything.

They offered him the fight again, on a big PPV night, and after months of negotiations where Canelo's team gave in to all Cotto's demands, Cotto still would not sign. Canelo had enough and moved on. Can't fight someone who doesn't want it. Obvious and deduced objective rationalities do not penetrate Miguel Toto fans. In their twisted, delusional experience that they call life, he who does not hold Cotto in high regards is Mexican and/or a hater. There is no other possibility. nobody is ducking the other. cotto is the reason the fight isnt happening but its not because he is ducking alvarez, its because he is holding out for mayweather. mayweather is a tougher fight than canelo so its anything but a duck. Yeah, Mayweather MAY be the tougher fight, but Cotto can't win either fight. And he knows that, deep down. So it's understandable he would hold out for more $$$. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires after his next heart breaking loss.

I think it's understandable for cotto to hold out for a mayweather fight. Canelo and his team should have considered that there are other factors here other than the "Cotto doesn't want to fight me" angle.
