It shouldn't be a problem on the NBC Sports and SPIKE cable channels. But I wonder how violent the 5 or so NBC network shows will be allowed to be. Will the ref and doctors be instructed to pull the trigger on a stoppage sooner, if there's excessive bleeding or a one sided beating? The language in the corners, thats easy, a 7 second delay system and bleep button. But how will they handle a live broadcast where it gets too violent and graphic for network tv standards?
They aint gonna do anything different, lol networks dont control what the ref and doctors do lol.
The most they are gonna do bleep/mute the cussing from the corner and they might not even do that.
Maybe you're too young to remember but boxing was on network tv for years. That's how most of the greats of the 80s became household names. Network TV is WAY less censored now than it was then. Nothing to worry about.
Well they will be at Commercial while the fighters are in their Corner so they won't have to worry about the Language coming from the Trainers. So it is no need for any type of "CENSORING" what so ever!
I think they will show everything HBO/SHO shows no different than they do graphic injuries in football or basketball games. Remember on NBCSports they had cameramen in the same position on the ring as HBO/SHO did.
Maybe they will go to the "wide shot" and less close ups if you have like a Lebedev/Jones situation.
this..........
What am I talking about, they'll do like NBC Fight Night and not go to the corners at all, and go to a commercial break. That will eliminate the language issue. Its missing out on an entertaining aspect of fights, trainer-boxer interaction in the corner, and I'd much rather they bleep out words on the 7-second delay.
But something like a Kirkland style round by round beatdown I cant see being allowed on the network. There will be a lot of the doctor interrupting to check on guys with follow-the-finger tests. The ref jumping in sooner, standing counts, that type of thing.
