Since Sanchez shot his mouth off again and said GGG would stop Ward, and I think many of us doubt this seriously, what other MWs would have been good enough to accomplish a KO (or at least a victory) over Ward?
Hagler?
Toney?
Robinson?
Hearns?
Anybody?
GGG drops his hands after every punch.
Abel should be teaching basic defense instead of cashing checks GGG's as.s can't cash.
Stevens backed him across the ring and Golovkin had his hands on his balls the whole time.
Chin just dangling in the breeze.
K2 will have a hard time keeping that hype-train out the ditch.
Go to youtube and watch Golovkin Vs Adama
A slow fighter like Adama exposed serious holes in his game.
Alright,i know that you dont like golovkin, but you are seriously reaching at this point. Stevens is one of the hardest hitters at 160,and golovkin took a flush shot from him, smiled, walked him down, and broke the guy down over 8 rounds. Or maybe you just stopped watching the fight after the knockdown in the second round, which left stevens doing the :o face. I lost count of how many times golovkin shook adama, not to mention knocked him down,so your arguement doesnt make any sense, unless you consider a fighter getting constantly stunned and knocked down against golovkin,an accomplishment. As for his defense, hes actually verry good at catching shots with his gloves, but the times that he does get hit,its because he's willing to take a shot in order to land a bigger one. Ward might be able to beat golovkin by decision, but theres no way that sog comes out of the fight without getting dropped at least once. He just doesnt have the pop to keep golovkin honest, and off of him for 12 rounds.
I think prime Hopkins beats him.
Just a little better at everything.
Not everything. Ward is physically stronger on the inside, more athletic and faster. I see this as a 50/50 fight.

Hagler most definitely, he's be strong and he would be the puncher in there. I can't see Ward clinching his way out of this one. Toney most likely but keeping this realistic, Toney had weight and commitment issues so if he doesn't come in focused, Ward would outpoint.
Robinson most definitely, it's not even a debate.
Possibly the Leonard that fought Hagler, he still had speed and movement and wasn't yet too past it.
Hearns, I don't see it, he was too inconsistent above 154 and Ward would probably beat him on points.
Don't need to go way back in time. SMW version of Jones as well as Hopkins. Ward is a budget version of Hopkins. The original is always better. Regarding RJJ - prime version beats any SMW in history. Too quick and too powerful. It was his most effective weight.
