Danish paper BT writes that Sauerland has had extensive discussions with Andre Ward and HBO in Los Angeles.
Now he returns to Europe saying:
"I'm sure we can persuade Ward. We got HBO backing. Its probably just up to Kessler".
The dane announced his retirement just last week and hasn't been in the ring since a decision loss to Carl Froch in London nearly two years ago.
What is ward asking for to take this fight? Like $7 million lol...Kessler is so shot already, talk about a money grab..
Ward has quickly faded into obscurity in the boxing world.. Who's next Arthur Abraham ? Then maybe Pavlick will be out of rehab in time for his third tune up...

this is BS, this fight means absolutely nothing now, Kessler is almost reaching the end, if it hasn't already been beaten into him by Froch.
Are you saying he didnt butt kessler like bradley does fools..
He needs to man up and step up to the plate bruh.
leaving 3 million on the table to fight kovalev and stevenson
and pascal.
Wants an ununified 160 pounder to move up.
gtfoh..he hasnt fought a pulse in 3 yrs yet he is number 2 p4p .lmao
Kessler deserves a rematch after that hometown head butt cooking joke of a ref let shhhh slide..
Man up ward
Eh, I'm not a fan of Ward? And yes Kessler got head butted.
I think you misunderstood my post.
Kessler got rocked in his comeback fight against some bacon vendor in Copenhagen. He was not mentally the same after getting slapped around by Sir Joseph.
You got rocked in your comeback fight against some bacon vendor in Copenhagen.
I don't think it was Kessler's night no. But Ward's constant grabbing and head butting certainly didn't make it an honest, fair fight.
He was much better in the Calzaghe fight, there are a few reasons for that. Even though it's rumoured he had a fractured hand. In Oakland, they play all kinds of tricks. And it worked.
Kessler had a couple of devastating performances right after Calzaghe, so obviously this isn't true.
The fratures hand was real. He didn't spar for Calzaghe and had the hand surgically repaired afterwards. Palle didn't want to cancel the fight since it had been so difficult getting Calzaghe and Warren to sign.
LOL.
The danish robot will never beat Ward.
They will try to make it in Herning.
WTF BAT? That place seems to be far away from anything.
Don't they have big stadiums in Copenhagen or some other place not out in the sticks.
:lol1:
I was just thinking about that the other day. On the way to Herning there was literally nothing and from what I remember it took a little while to get there.
Which reminds me, I gotta go to an overseas fight again. It's been over 3 years and almost 5 since Froch-Kessler 1.
I told you Herning was in the middle of nowhere.
Yeah Ward will be in Parken Stadium in Copenhagen if or gets made. Are you coming over? It would be great.
:lol1:
The Calzaghe version was in a different stratosphere.'
Yeah eye problems. I wonder how that started..
Maybe you should look back at the ward fight.

People around the same caliber Joe were fighting before Lacy.

This is untrue.
Andre Ward won an Olympic gold medal in Greece and has fought twice in different Carrabiean Sea island countries.
I heard rumours they had his Olympic fights on live telecast from Oakland because Goosen made a deal with the committee. They even did a mock-up arena and everything. All the light heavies had to go to Oakland.
The rumour seems a little out there, but how could we know that wasn't the case? It's like with the moon landing really. Nasa controlled the telecast.
I'm not saying it's definitely true. But it's pretty darn close.
If Ward wants to make a comeback in boxing, Kessler is a lousy choice. He's a European fighter who's talking retirement, & has little relevance here in the U.S. Andre Dirrlell is a better choice. He's a talented fighter who has only recently returned to the ring himself, after a long layoff. They both competed in the Super Six tournament, but didn't face each other.
Kessler can't fight on the inside for anything. Ward was just too quick for him in there. He could punch and rough house with no recriminations.
I'd like to see Ward fight someone knew rather than Froch or Kessler.
Fighting on the inside does not equate to head butting and clinching.
If they were fighting fairly, Ward would have been eating uppercuts like Calzaghe was.
from the ward fight? i don't agree with that. i just think he wasn't at the peak of his powers, the way he was when he was undefeated. by the time froch got to him the second time, he was a completely different fighter.
and the asskicking preceded the headbutts. ward would have walked away with that fight without any clashes of heads. you're probably willing to accept that, but i know a few who don't.

Kessler was never the same after Calzaghe dealt with him. You're welcome for the Brit assist on your best win, Andre.
