Joe beat a better, PRIME version Kessler while Froch lost his first fight to Mikkel and only defeated him after the Dane was shot. And unlike Andre Ward, Calzaghe didn't need deliberate head butts and other illegal tactics nor a shady home referee like Jack Reiss to help him defeat Kessler. Calzaghe-Kess was a great fight. Awesome win for Joe.

no that wouldn't make any sense. read the transcripts. hopkins was keeping all the 3 million from showtime. so was calzaghe fighting for free? obviously not. also what happened is warren was trying to swindle hopkins because his side would have made more than 3 million. he said it in court. You would estimate the site fees and the foreign fees and your end was going to amount to what? What was your best take on what your end was going to be? we probably would have taken 2 million pounds the gate, maybe more-There was British TV at that time, I believe a pay-per-view show, Sky TV were the broadcasters I worked with in the U.K. That would have gone out in prime time so that's over 3 million US dollars just for the live gate plus the pay per view. calzaghe's side was walking away with much more than 3 million while hopkins side would be left with only 3. why would hopkins agree to to that? he asked for more and the fight fell apart. warren could have offered a 50-50 split of all uk revenue but i dont think he did that and the fight was scrapped. Doesn't make any sense for a UK promoter to want to put the fight on in the UK? Hopkins refused to go over to the UK so it's kind irrelevant about what the gate would have done.

Using the ***** logic , I am anointing Calzaghe the best ever.... Made fools out of Hopkins and Roy jones jr.... Retired undefeated with 46 wins and 32 kos. Yep , TBE baby Hops was a good win but it was a close fight. Jones was shot and pretty much a waste of time at that point.

Just to finish this thought...this is why boxing has lost so many fans, IMO...or at least one of the major reasons....and it is also the reason the UFC fanbase is growing...they make the big fights...UFC controls the matchups, no bull**** promoter or third entity...its Dana White giving the fans what they want...plain and simple... One common theme for the majority of fighters in the past two decades, after doing some extensive research....they all seem to be duckers or cherry pickers....i think i can find an article with an opinion on every fighter that says they ducked multiple fights or cherry picked fights.. Just to finish this thought...this is why boxing has lost so many fans, IMO...or at least one of the major reasons....and it is also the reason the UFC fanbase is growing...they make the big fights...UFC controls the matchups, no bull**** promoter or third entity...its Dana White giving the fans what they want...plain and simple...

Hopkins being in the middleweight and calslappy being in the super middle. They offered hopkins 3 mil to move up and fight calslappy, he said 6 mill and the fight was completely off, not that hopkins backed out. I'm certain Cortez would have DQ'd Ortiz if he did that to Floyd, no way he would have got away with it. Yeah let's just forget about Ortiz deliberate head butt which admittedly he used to break Mayweather's nose. Or the numerous rabbit punches. Where was the DQ by Cortez?
