Awesome, was worried it wouldn't happen...but this'll be cool. Hopefully they have it in Macau so it'll be on HBO on a Zhou card.
Nietes defending on March 28th in the PI, so there's enough time for a summer card like they did with Zhou last year
Nietes is one of the asian fighters whom extremely is underated here in NSB:boxing:
Hope he fights on u.s. Soil and signs golden boy and forsakes ala.
I'm still waiting for that West Coast ALA show we were promised last year
Would the fight pull through even if some how Fajardo manages to beat JFR Jr in their rematch?
I think this has the makings of an entirely entertaining fight. Donnie Nietes is in encredibly talented and these are the types of fights he needs. If not in March then some other time in early Spring/Summer would be perfect. The venue wouldn't be a problem, Nietes said he likes fighting in Mexico and Chihuas is willing to travel in order to capture a belt, so it could be staged anywhere and both fighters would show up.
This might not have potential for FOTY because of Donnie's work rate, but it should be a good and grueling fight. I think Chihuas has a nasty uppercut and Nietes tends to duck and dip low when picking his shots or avoiding straight punches... That could be a potential hazard for Nietes in the fight.
Anyway, good news! Thanks for the update.
I want to say no because the ALA promoter almost pulled the fight completely when Rodriguez had a draw with Jomar.
Rodriguez should win though and we can get this fight on.
Nietes is good, not your typical filipino fighter. Thinking man who's economical without all the flash you usually see.
Also March is out

I think it'll be sometime in the summer
