If Floyd Mayweather ducks Manny Pacquiao yet again, would it really tarnish his legacy?
I mean, we are all aware that Coralles was Mayweather's only real fight. The rest were really just cherry picks. For instance, Gatti had already been stopped by De La Hoya years earlier. Marquez had to move up to a catchweight that Mayweather chose to ignore. Ortiz was a sucker punch. Are all of Floyd's other fights useless if he does not fight Pacquiao?
Simple yes or no poll coming.
When you call yourself the best ever, you're expected to fight the best not the likes of a retarded victor ortiz. If he was a lot more humble and didn't act like such an insufferable a55hole, fans may be more willing to give him a pass for not fighting Pacquiao.
At the time of me voting 21 outta 21 people voted avoided Pacman would avoid Mayweathers legacy, 100% lol.
30 now at 100%. Mayweather needs to be a man & just agree to the damn fight already. The only thing I can think of for the delay is that he wants to wait until the Super Bowl half time or after it to make the announcement. If he doesn't agree to it, than Mayweather-Cotto II won't even get to 500,000 buys & Showtime would lose huge money. They need at least a million or more to make any sort of decent profit as far as I know.
The public already views Floyd as the ducker in the equation and has for years. This latest duck is just going to reinforce that in the public's collective mind, especially given how close it appeared to be before Floyd started babbling about bein' his own boss doe and looking like he won't take the fight.
I'm still hopeful though. I'll wait until one of the camps announces another fight to lose all hope.
Yes, but not for the reasons you stated.
Mayweather doesn't only have one legit fight, he has several impressive wins along with other lackluster opponents. And no his wins aren't useless if he doesn't fight Pacquiao. But yes, if he doesn't fight Pacquiao what he will be remembered for is avoiding him. You can see now, wherever he goes people are shouting "Fight Pacquiao". That will follow him for a long time.
