The Diamond Boy. He was en route to beating Vitali in your world :lol1:
Honestly, some good suggestions from you people, though. I like Briggs or Tarver, it would create lots of hype.
Wlad hopefully...i miss the sight of seeing him flopping all over the canvas every other fight :lol1::lol1::lol1:
Fury would make a nice highlight reel KO as well though
I agree.
But Briggs is not an accetable opponent in my opinion, no matter hor crazy he is.
Maybe Stiverne-Briggs , that I'd understand, but Wilder just stepped up, his first defense should be against a guy who is in the top 10-15.
Wilder - Fury would be a great fight.
Wilder says he wants Fury, who is reportedly fighting Christian Hammer in the UK next month. As someone else mentioned, Fury probably is focused on landing the Vlad fight later in the year.
People mention Tarver, I think it's another viable option, he looked pretty good when he recently beat Banks...
The HW division is heating up and Wilder needs to keep up the steam and not fight some no-name to defend the prestigious belt. Needs to be a top ten guy or his credibility vanishes. That rules out Briggs obviously, but he would be the lone acceptable exception because he is crazy and sells and was the last previous American champion.

I think Tarver or Briggs have the name recognition and would be good experience fights for a young champ who is still developing . Just add a drug testing clause in the contracts and they should be somewhat safe defenses of the title and good names on his resume .

Nah, that guy is behind the line already set up by Haymon:
1). Fury
2). A Salsa type fighter
3). TBD - to be determined
4). TBA - to be announced
5). talk to my adviser Haymon
6). A Haymon fighter of B to B- level aka Garcia vs Pederson (Hype job fight)
7). Retire for a year or two say there ain't no competition - probably avoiding another European Superman
8). Cab driver opponent as comeback fight after the European beast fighter is defeated or retired
9). Repeat and recycle
Fury won't take the fight since he's already in line for wlad and that fight will probably happen later this year. Jennings is booked, chisora is shot so there really isn't that many options.

Antonio Tarver is still viable enough option for a voluntary defense. Looking down the WBC heavyweight rankings, the Glazkov-Cunningham winner could also warrant an opportunity (whether Duva and Haymon can come to reasonable enough terms is in question).
Outside of Klitschko, none of the other heavyweights have been able to set their names apart, so it doesn't really matter who he fights as long as he fights.
As long as Wilder keeps his face out there (if his management was on top of things, he'd be booked to do Good Morning America ABC, The Today Show NBC, and This Morning CBS, before spending the rest of the day doing the ESPN shows) the momentum will move just fine.
