Crawford to face Algeri in April

True, T. Crawford is a talented fighter but he will be fighting in jr.ww now. No matter how good he was in lowerweights , it will be different if he go up in weights. His speed, power, punch resistance etc. will diminish a bit there, I agree, but there is no guarantee that everything will diminish. Some guys actually improve all three aspects that you mentioned. It depends on the natural weight class they should be in. But I do agree, that's the main thing to look for with any fighter moving up. If he carries the weight well, then I think he's a match for anyone in the division. It should be good fights ahead at 140-147!

Sorry, I respect Algeri but at this point I just think who ever gets thrown in with Crawford is just a stepping stone for him on his way to becoming one of the very best fighters in the WORLD P4P He is taking the right road to the top, been battle tested, wasn't afraid to test himself when most thought he wasn't ready, starting with the Prescott fight and after that his opponents got tougher and tougher and he has gotten better and better

I actually like this fight. Algeri deserves a meaningful fight at 140. He shouldn't have been in there with Pacquiao in the 1st place. It's a great test for Crawfords 1st fight at 140. I think Crawford wins quite comfortably to be honest. Then on to the next one! Why do people keep saying this? He already fought AND beat Prescott at 140 on 2 week's notice. He won't be disadvantaged at all fighting at 140.

That'd be a good scrap. Two point scorers and essentially runners belong in the ring together. I agree, their styles mesh up really well. The fight would be a true chess match.

I disagree I think Crawfords a level above Algieri and if the fight gets made its a bad move by Chris's team. He just finished get lit up by PAC and I think Crawford will light him up again. Then what's he got going for him, nothing back to ESPN level fighting in front of his hometown. I think if this fight gets made it'll be made for Terence to look good in similar to when PAC fought him. It's BS that he got his belt stripped in the first place so if he wants to get it back then cool but I don't think it'll end well. Seriously buddy should sign with Haymon. True, T. algieri just got shown the hard way the gap between good and great. probably not gonna be easy to bounce back from that after being on cloud 9 surviving prov. especially not against crawford with momentum and has been winning. ill root algieri but id bet crawford.

BS fight. It's a shame that such a great talent like Crawford is signed to that rotten house called top rank. No. Chris Algieri is in no way an elite fighter. He is a C+ fighter at best. Neither is Crawford. Dude is barely coming up as a solid fighter and getting in the ring against a guy like Algieri in his first fight as a LWW is a good fight. It'll be interesting to see how Crawford handles someone who is taller, has a slightly longer reach, and also likes to box. And Top Rank is doing a great job of matching him up with solid competition.

Runner vs runner usually fight in the middle of the ring. Thus, fight could end up entertaining to watch.

This is actually a good fight. Algeri's long jab and movement is going to be lots of trouble for Crawford. 50/50 fight :boxing:

It could be much worse, at least it's two name fighters instead of TBA. Algieri got a new trainer right? His corner for Pac were complete goons acting like they were on a reality TV show.
