Oscar made his bed, he made certain choices that caused the situation was in. He didn't have to play it like he did, but he did and it can work out for him. He has his company, he has Canelo, he has himself, and he still has a good amount of money with some other stuff. They are not in terrible position at the moment, other than the sourness with Haymon.

What ruined him was letting people run his company for him all this time he would been fked harder if he still was out of it. Would have even less fighters.

I was thinking the same thing, that Oscar had really screwed himself. And then, I passed by his ski chalet, the home in Big Bear where he stays during training. It was walking distance from the ski slopes and exhibited so much success and wealth that I got so depressed that I couldn't go snowboarding and Turned my car around and drove all the way back to San Diego to talk trash on the internets.

After Canelo and Matthysse, GBP's best fighters are David Lemeuix and Jorge Linares. They are as relevant as Main Events or Gary Shaw Productions these days. They went from being the industry leader to a one-boxer company. It's gonna be even funnier when Schaefer comes back this summer, joins Mayweather Promotions and turns it into the industry standard with all of Oscar's former fighters. That's gotta eat Oscar up. He already despised Floyd before, I don't know what he's gonna do when Mayweather Promotions is ruling the roost. Oscar blew it... literally. Oscar was unfortunately dealing with his inner demons, i get it. But that doesnt excuse the fact that his brother in law royally fuc.ked him over. If that was me(Oscar), i wouldve caught another case, but this time, i mos def woulda got rid of the body. FTP Schaefer. I'd beat his as.s just on gp. In the end, boxing is at a crossroads. Yes we finally got FMJ/Pac but will it be a great historical fight like most hope it would be? My guess is it might have its moments, but theyll be few and far between(i hope im wrong). The other thing is that we still have a cold war as Haymon isnt going to work with GB/TR. and yes Haymon has a huge stable but will he really be pitting his best against his best? Thats the question all of us want answered....because if he doesnt, then boxing will be ignored more because although itl be on tv more, its not going to garner your casual fans the way it should

One day some of the people in this thread need to explain why they so earnestly believed an undereducated coke fiend who fired all the people who did most of the day to day running of his company would still be as successful. I mean really. Is this the kind of guy you want running a company? The cat got tons of money, doesnt have to listen to your idol criticizing him all the time when he promotes your boys fights and even though he lost a lot of guys that technically werent signed to him(because gayman was giving it to Richard in the bum), he wasnt able to makie them fight each other any way because they'd cry and run to the tranny lover any way.... The Golden Boy is about making fights, just make sure you tune out when he puts them on since you hate the guy so much.... lol..................

Oscar has Top Rank's stable to lean on and way more entertaining options to offer with the fighters still left in his stable. Haymon and Schaefer have squat. A stable of fighters that don't want to fight each other and will rather fight easy pickings for unreasonable amounts of money.

Oscar cant blame Shaferr because the only reason Richard was in that place was because of Oscar loved for that white powder.

Oscar sued for 50Mill that doesn't mean that is what he got. Nobody publicly knows what he got. I would venture to say it wasn't 50Mill considering it was settled out of court. Never heard of anybody settling before trial just to pay the full asking amount.

I'm sure he's laughing to the bank with the money from the settlement with haymon and Schaefer

Oscar is in a good deal of trouble. That is clear as day. It will be interesting to see what he does to rebuild his stable. He has his work cut out for him though. He needs someone to mam the helm. If the Cotto negotiating has shown me anything, it's that Oscar is just not a skilled negotiator.
