Is it me, or does Parker remind you of a heavyweight version of Kosta tzysu... He has a lot of the same mannerisms
He looks like a heavyweight Kostya Tszyu, but I can't see many similarities besides their explosiveness. Their footwork is quite different for a start. Kostya was always quite flat footed, yet moved extremely well, no wasted energy. Parker has a tendency to jump around a lot, and his sense of distance isn't anywhere near as refined. That also translates into their offence. Kostya had an extremely patient yet brutal offence when he had you against the ropes, Parker goes wild. I think a lot of Parker's energy will dissipate as he gets more experience and learns to conserve himself more, but I don't think he has the right mindset to ever fight like Kostya. Too eager for the KO.
after fighting whyte and showing stamina problems and just one good shot wobbled aj who was there for the taking i would parker would win the fight. parker has far superior movement to avoid and counter aj's power in the early rounds and parker has the arsonal to finish the fight in rounds 4 or 5. aj is carrying too much muscle and has very heavy legs wich will caus him problems agains the top level fighters who can handle and defend against his explosive power in the early rounds
Both good fighters; definitely a match in the making nearby future. JP may be better now however I favorite AJ. I think he has more potential with his style, technique and is patient. Whereas JP gets impatience sometimes and goes into sluggish mode where he gets a bit careless and is open easily for a counter.
i believe it would be a fantastic fight as most opponents underestimate parkers power. it may not be as developed quite as much as joshuas yet but he is still very powerful. (just ask costa jr.) parker also has superior footwork and lightning quick handspeed. i dont believe joshua could corner parker or land his telegraphed power shots. parker is also improving faster with a very busy fight schedule. if joshua wants to have a chance beating parker he better do it fast before the young parker fills out more and improves his rapidly growing power
Wlad will be using Parker as one of his sparring partners during the Jennings camp. Once again he is sizing up his potential future opponents, just like he has done with Wilder and Joshua. Will also be a good learning experience for Parker. :boxing:
Damn.... I just heard that Thompson is targeting Anthony Joshua!!
I'm not so confident that Joshua can get past The Tiger right now.
If Joshua loses that 0, it could derail the Parker vs. Joshua war.
I think this is winnable for Joshua as long as he doesnt go in thinking "this will be easy, hes old and fat..."
Learn how to fight southpaws, learn to close the distance/cut off the ring, learn to fight inside. Thompson isnt that good, but he will mug you if you dont prepare properly.

Parkers last fight
He is developing a really good lead hand, still squares up too much when he attacks along the ropes.

AJ has more hype surrounding him and with any New Zealand/Australian fighter they never get the exposure they deserve not to mention they've produced some massive punchers in the past.
I think Parker can stand upto Joshuas power and actually hurt Joshua pretty bad with his own.
He has had less fights but with similar level competition.
And who goes on to carve the better legacy?
PS - I don't know how to make a Poll :c
Thread tools bro!:boxing:
I think Parker is the more skilled of the two at this point and if he could take AJs power then I think he'd beat him.. I think AJ has the most potential of the two tho!
Side note I wonder does AJ have a solid chin?
Joshua looks better right now, but he's older and has had more extensive amateur experience.
Parker has been boxing since he was kid though i think, whereas Joshua only started at 18
Joshua looks more talented. Physically hes a beast and he has all the right attributes to be a very good HW. Hes still has a way to go though. Still seems open to counters, and still looks a little stiff. Yet to be seen how his stamina holds up past a few rounds
That said Parker seems the smoother, better boxer at this moment. He goes well to body and head, and throws crisper tighter combos. Stamina is tested up to 8 rnds (i think), and hes taken a few shots without showing to much to worry about (though his defence is pretty lapse at times as well.
Atm this is pretty much impossible to predict so im just gonna enjoy their rides until they fight or one falls away.

Intriguing match up. Joshua looks to be more well-rounded: his footwork is improving with each fight; he is boxing behind the jab; his guard looks pretty tight; and, of course, he has real power in that right hand!
That said, I can't shake the thought that Parker will stand up to shots better than Joshua. There's an element of doubt, much like that I had with Price (yes, I'm aware they are two different beasts), that Joshua has a 'suspect' chin. However, like Wlad, that may not be important if he continues to be matched well and retains a disciplined approach.
