Which boxer, who has a family history directly connected to the continent of Asia, would you say is most skilled ---
Amir Khan
Manny Pacquiao
Gennady Golovkin
Naoya Inoue,
Zou Shiming
Nonito Donaire...
or another boxer?
It's a tough one but probably Khan, Pac, or GGG - one of them could most probably be king of the hill all things considered?
I believe he has referred tom himself as British - Asian. A similar term to African American.
Exactly that, he's British by birth, Asian by family roots. It could even be argued now that he's American too because he spends a lot of time in the US training.
Golovkin fought for the gold medal in "strickly" asian games in 2002. everybody in asia think he's asian so he's asian.
2002 won the Asian Games in Busan, South Korea as a Light Middleweight. Results were:
Defeated Abdullah Shekib (Afghanistan) AB-1
Defeated Nagimeldin Adam (Qatar) RSCO-1
Defeated Song In Joon (South Korea) PTS (18-12)
Defeated Suriya Prasathinpimai (Thailand) RSCO-3
wiki.
I can not believe people are voting for GGG, forget all the "who's really asian?" debate for the moment, when you have Pacquiao on a list like this, he should be the only pick that matters. It's ridiculous, how is GGG better skilled? When has he shown the versatility in styles that Pacquiao has for 15 years? LOL Boxing fans must be 12 years old here.
Geographical location and blood/ethnicity are two different things.
Political correctness has really crippled our language by making it forbidden to differentiate between the two. As you can see by this depressingly circular thread.
Pacquaio is the best actually-Asian boxer.
pacquiao, khan, and donaire rely more on their physical ability rather than pure boxing skill so i will give the edge to golovkin. his offense is much more methodical, in my opinion. i haven't seen inoue fight to have an opinion on him and shiming is straight up garbage.
I always find it funny how when you have someone half White half Asian they are usually considered WHITE, like Golovkin, Ruslan Provodnikov, Keanu Reeves, Brandon Lee, maybe its more LOOKISM than Racism?
Ruslan is considered white because he has white skin, reddish hair, light eyes and he has asian eyes but he is considered white.
Andre Ward should be considered white since his father is white and he was raised by his white father and white family.
But because he doesn't look 100 percent white they don't consider him white.
GGG is considered white by the majority of people, also Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko have mongolian blood they both born in Kazakstan
This actress is Half Chinese and Half white yet she is considered WHITe, you will never see a person who is half black or even a quarter black and mostly white be considered white they are automatically black even if they have more white blood than this actress.

Is this true?
Russians - the slavic people from Rus are European but Russia (the country) is mostly in Asia and Kazakhstan is entirely in Asia. It borders China.

Khan is of Asian descent but he got taught his boxing in England...believe it or not, boxing skills are not hereditary lol
Oh and it's clearly Pacquiao
Actually that was my first thought, I just didn't bother posting it because people were busy discussing GGG's asianness...
But yes, Khan was born and raised in the UK. If Asian is not an ethnicity (and it isn't), then what exactly makes him Asian?

Khan is British. Saying Khan is Asian is like claiming from guy who lives in Boston is Irish.
Pacquiao is the most proven, Golovkin I believe will prove he's just as good though in the future once these cowards start fighting him.
We are talking about his ethnicity not nationally. Or if you like his heritage/race.
How obvious was it that this thread would end up being an argument about whether Golovkin is Asian or not? :lol1:
Let's not argue about the British guy on the list, let's talk about the guy who lives in Kazakhstan and has a Korean mother.

But Obama is more black than GGG is asian lol. Triple g ain't even close to being asian.
His mother is Korean and he grew up in Kazakhstan which is in Asia. It's north of Afghanistan and borders China.
