We see it said here all the time that Bob is keeping Manny from floyd. But who really stands to lose more here? Manny has lost several times, and is still a marketable fighter. When floyd does lose, there goes his entire marketing campaign. Since we always see Haymon keeping his fighters out of harms way, why aren't people questioning Haymon protecting Floyd? Don't come with that crap that floyd is his own boss. He's not and has even said he needs to talk to Al about his fights. If anyone is protecting their fighter, it's Al protecting floyd.

I understand what you are saying here. It might just be both Haymon (business-wise) and then Floyd (not wanting a challenge-wise) avoiding the PAC match up. Haymon paired up with Floyd about the same exact time as Floyd was dodging the Margarito fight, so going by their history maybe it is just Floyd? Since 2009/2010 Floyd's body language from the meer mention of Manny's name- dude was shook back then.
According to what Arum recently said, it comes down to Money. Pacquiao keeps publicly calling Floyd to fight, saying money isn't an issue, but Arum says it is. If Manny wants the fight, he will have to convince Arum to accept Mayweather's offer, or it won't happen. Plain and simple.
What is it you are missing?
Floyd don't want to work with arum not in 2009 not now not ever. so all your argument is null and void.
and if this does not answer your question, it is not just "Floyd don't want to work with arum" you are missing. but something inside that thick skull of yours
why i gotta have a thick skull tho? lol. hell until recently neither did oscar. Of course i understand what your saying. I feel like thats one of the main reasons cotto didnt happen bacc then and only after cotto left bob. Again though, if floyd didnt want THIS fight, why go through all the trouble? Why did he ask greenburg to make the fight? Remember Floyd went after manny first, not the other way around. I guess thats what im getting at. Not trying to rile you up or anything bruh
Pacquaio did agree to the testing my man. Remember they had the arbitrator involved and they agreed to the testing but wanted a 14 day cutoff before fight night. Floyd balked and they said 7 days but no sooner and that was that. You guys act like he just said no way and walked away. Not agreeing at all and agreeing but wanting a cutoff date are two different things.
thats the thing, no they didnt. i dont know where people got that from. This is some of the things i found on this:
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=4803490
After hours of negotiating during mediation, Arum declared that the fight was officially off after Mayweather refused to agree to a 24-day cut-off date, which Team Pacquiao had agreed to after it was discovered that he had given blood 24 days prior to his May 2nd bout with Ricky Hatton. "The proposal that the mediator put forth and recommended the Mayweather camp was very simple: They would be allowed to do the blood-testing within up to 24 days of the fight, and the tests would be supervised, pursuant to the guidines of the Nevada State Athletic Commission's jurisdiction, and that they would give a statement of full apology in regard to comments made about Manny and their false allegations that he had been taking performance enhancing drugs. I was informed by Arum about 30 minutes ago that that was flatly refused by the Mayweather people, and that's a rejection of the recommendation of the arbitrator, so we're not going to stay around and wait, because we have nothing to negotiatiate," said Pacquiao's advisor Michael Koncz
and then this:
http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slug=ki-pacfloydnegotiations010810
Despite the fact that Team Pacquiao walked away from negotiations and were set to sign a contract to face Joshua Clottey, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer still held out hope that a bout with Mayweather could be made, suggesting that Pacquiao himself was never made aware that Mayweather was willing to agree to a 14-day cut-off date. "There are reports that Manny is not aware of this and we want to make certain that he knows what Floyd has agreed to do," Schaefer said. Evidently, on December 30, Golden Boy executive Bruce Binkow offered a 14-day cut-off via text message to Top Rank president Todd duBoef, who simply replied on the following day, "14 is no good." Pacquiao's advisor Michael Koncz confirmed that promoter Bob Arum contacted him with the offer, but Pacquiao himself turned it down. "Bob called and told us about the 14 days and I brought that to Manny and he said, 'I told you, we're not agreeing to that,' and that was pretty much it," Koncz said.
I mean when it comes to other fighters people say Haymon will get you the fight you want if you want it. I'm sure everyone wants the fight, there just seems to be some timing issues on this newer negotiation.
He's trying to launch this new venture
Pac-Arum are pressuring
Canelo-GBP pressuring
A Cotto fight offers a historical component at MW that Pac doesn't
Cotto could lose to a legit 160 and that fight would be gone
He says he will retire in 2 fights but I believe (hunch) that is BS - he will fight in the new arena in Vegas next May and I bet they are trying to figure out who that might for the possible 50-0
A lot of logistics to be considered on Floyd's side...they've got to be the ones holding it up this time.
So pac agreed to those terms eh. Can you please show me proof of that sir? 50/50 on the table the first negotiations. Please show me a link of pac agreeing to the test in those negotiations when the fight was actually on the table. Not that years later "i'll do it" stuff in the media When no contracts, negotiations or anything has was going on. Or are you just taking pacs word for it? Correct me if im wrong because i believe the first time pac actually took ost was after he got k.o'd.
im not ignoring anything. Hell you could very well be right and floyd was bluffing. But that doesnt really answer why go to those lengths. Once pac walked off the first time thats a viable excuse, but they went to mediation and Pac still walked. What is it im missing here?

You're missing a bold and very loud accusation of cheating with no concrete evidence. Who would bow down to that?
i hear you on that. If i was manny i'd be mad too. That said, tyson asked for holyfield to be tested for steriods as well before their second fight, so its not like it was unprecedented. But would you walk away from that much money because of it? lol they could test my nose hairs inbetween rounds if it meant i could make a payday like that.
Damn man, how many threads do we need on Floyd/Manny??? come on can ya'll talk about anything else?
Good lord man stop the snitching. No wonder people are blasting you on the net.

You're not the one missing anything. :lol1:
maybe just maybe floyd was bluffing? i mean we have the last 5 years as evidence. its easy to look like you want the fight when there are terms that your opponent hasn't agreed to. we know when pac agreed to those terms floyd just changed his mind and wouldn't fight yet you keep ignoring that. it was a bluff and he got caught. deal with it.

this thread makes no sense. They had a 50/50 deal on the table and manny walked off. Why do you guys keep looking for other reasons as to why they havent fought yet? If floyd/al/shaffeur/oscar whoever didnt want the fight. Why not just price himself out the first time? Sometimes i think yall think too hard on this stuff.

Before I was optimistic about this fight being made, but now i am certain that it won't happen. Floyd will fight his two remaining matches by carefully picking them with descent PPV followers, ie Khan and Cotto. Retire undefeated and him and Al will use that as their main mantra for their TMT promotion company. Richard is waiting until his remaining days as GB Head honcho is over to avoid being sued again, then Him, Al, and Floyd will make more money than what he would get fighting Manny. Brilliant business minds puling all the strings in their direction. After it's all said and done, we the fans of boxing will get rob from the one of the biggest if not the biggest fight of these era.
Yeah.....except.....manny-Bradley 2 did like 850,000 after the Marquez KO... So with a good opponent he's still very marketable obviously... He did roughly the same as Mayweather Maidana 1+2..
The opponent obviously has a huge impact on sales...Mayweather always talks about his PPV sales with Oscar and Canelo and that's because he had very marketable guys standing on the other side of the ring..
Don't forget, they stacked their main event As well with ****load of known name boxers that the real boxing fans craves of seeing.
