COMMENTS
Fight no.1 will bring the highest PPVs in 2015. Gennady has much shorter arms than Floyd, and their size difference will be rather modest at 154lbs, which Gennady is willing to go down to. The size difference between Floyd and Juan Manuel Marques was much bigger with almost 20lbs difference in the ring, plus the enormous reach advantage for Floyd.
The weight difference in the ring between Floyd and Gennady, will probably be less than it was between Floyd and Canelo, and Floyd will have the reach advantage. If Floyd thinks he is an ATG he should definitely fight Gennady Golovkin, who is skilled but maybe not as skilled as Floyd.
Any fan of Floyd who thinks he has a better skill-set than Gennady should demand this fight immediately, so the world can admire Floyd's skills. However, when it comes to real fights many realize that Floyd's resume is rather thin and that maybe he isn't as skilled as they initially thought, therefore arguing for Floyd to avoid fights with boxers who has great skill-set.
Fight no.2 will still bring high PPVs because these two fighters have been media's main focus point during the last 7 years. One of them claiming he has unique skills, but rather fights less dangerous opponents. The other being a knockout artist without knockouts in the last few years. However, Floyd seems more willing now than ever to take risks if he can make a lot of money, and the reason Manny has no knockouts in the last few years is that he eases up on his opponents nowadays when he knows he's won the fights.
Fight no.3 is very attractive because Canelo is a young strong fighter with good chin who has great power in both hands. Gennady has much better footwork, but will probably be forced to be more careful not exchanging shots too wildly with Canelo. However, a multifold of very hard punches will fly in this fight and the fans will definitely be willing to pay their PPV to watch it.
Fight no.4 has good potential to be made in the end of 2015 because accountant Juan Manuel's favorite hobby is to count his doughs, so he will soon be salivating a fifth encounter.
Fight no.5 initially looks like a terrible mismatch, but Floyd's legs are not as fast as Algieri's so Ruslan might be able to cut off the ring as he occasionally did against Timothy. Ruslan is always dangerous when he is able to get close to his opponents. Since Ruslan has the capacity to knockout his opponents with one punch, the audience will be on the edge of their seat. Few boxing fans can resist watching this PPV.
*This fight has very evenly matched boxers where Erislandy, having the hardest punch, should be the favorite. Hence the fight having the potential to attract many more casual boxing fans and more PPVs.
P.S. This thread asks Khan's fans to focus on Khan in other threads, because this thread is not discussing British boxing but American PPVs.
You've got to just hope he's trolling.
yeah i hope so, i been ignoring this thread since this morning i thought with PPV on the title it will turn out to another Pac-may fans festival. but it turn-out to be refreshing thread and you made this thread extra entertaining, good job m8.
His last fight was on ppv here. It didn't do very well because no ones heard of him.
So millions of people who won't watch him for free are going to pay $70 to watch him ?
Obviously, GGG is much better known in this country than in yours because all HBO's subscribers have been watching his matches for free here.
However, I would like to ask you one more question before I answer you. How many PPV-buys do you think Floyd vs Gennady would attract in your country?
.
All GGGs fights have been free on HBO, so far. However, there are also a lot of boxing promotions going on related to other TV shows so general subscribers have seen GGG many times, without them watching whole fights.
Have you seen any GGG-fights on Straylyan TV?

You are from UK, right? Have you heard of a channel called HBO? They have 30 million subscribers here. They know who Provodnikov is.
Chris Algerie moves around in the ring faster than Floyd, so Floyd will not be safe and sports fans in this country know it.

This guy has been called a deluded spastic throughout this thread yet he's trying to be condescending? :lol1:
Completely beyond help.
I'm gonna do the best thing I can for you and ask you to please exit this thread now. It's filled with idiocracy and I'm worried about your health and the lasting effects this may have on you mentally.
I value our rivalry and need you around for years to come.

You are from Russia, right? Because you seem to be living in a fantasy world when discussing Golovkin or Provodnikov. Clearly there is an agenda here.
Ha ha ha...no I am not from Russia, and neither is Golovkin. If anyone of us has an agenda, it is you.
.
Ha ha ha...you are saying that TV watchers, and specifically sports watchers don't care about quality...you gotta be kidding. Sports watchers are known to only have interest in the best of the best. You are delusional if you think you can fool them more than once. They will find you out sooner than you think.
Sure, many sports watchers are nostalgic and want to watch their old favorites. However, the majority of sports watchers are only interested in the best of the best.
.
Of course. That explains why Tyson-McNeeley was one of the biggest PPV's ever. The quality was first rate. Or more likely people paid to see Mike Tyson, a proven attraction like Pacquiao, rather than a competitive match. People in the boxing business would laugh at how naïve you are. Sorry, but you have no idea what you are talking about.
I do know what I am talking about, and I answered you in my last post to you..."many sports watchers are nostalgic and want to watch their old favorites. However, the majority of sports watchers are only interested in the best of the best." If you think you can fool sports watchers more than once, you are the one who is naïve because they will find you out sooner than you think.

Provodnikov would not win a single second of a single round against Floyd Mayweather. He was made to look like a horrific bum by Chris Algieri ffs! No one knows who he is let alone would think he would have a chance with Mayweather.
PLEASE be trolling.

You are confusing quality for marketability, as you should have realized by now. GGG might be the best in the world right now. So what. He has ZERO credibility as a PPV attraction.

You can talk all you want about how much FM and MP are slipping. Their numbers are still by far the best in the business now. So of course a fight between the two of them is the biggest PPV event right now. The idea of making a GGG fight as big as that one through a clever 3-6 promotion is absolutely absurd.

Now it starts to be clear where you are coming from. Sure, Mayweather is a well known name in the sports world and among the public. Most people in the public know him as a supporter of women assaults. What do you want to achieve by focusing on people knowing Mayweather's name? Who more than Mayweather would like to be well known to the public as a supporter of women assaults?
But sure, people will know who he is when it's time for fight promotion, but since most casuals have a negative view of Mayweather's personality, many of them will only buy PPVs if Floyd fights a boxer who can knock him out. Ruslan can knock Floyd out, so Floyd vs Ruslan would sell very well, maybe even over 1.5 million PPVs.
Provodnikov would not win a single second of a single round against Floyd Mayweather. He was made to look like a horrific bum by Chris Algieri ffs! No one knows who he is let alone would think he would have a chance with Mayweather.

I agree that boxing fans, both serious and casuals, have been wanting Floyd vs Manny for years. The reason they wanted it was that they were seen as the two best p4p-fighters, and they were close enough in weight to be able to fight each other at 140-147lbs. However, this is not 2009. This is 2014.
Today both Floyd's and Manny's individual PPV-numbers are plunging.
They are no longer dominating boxing as they used to.
Today GGG is dominating in the sport (sport, not in the PPV-numbers) the same way Floyd and Manny did in 2009, and he is the favorite to win all fights 154-160lbs.
The fight Floyd vs Manny is more a nostalgic exhibition-fight, than anything else, because it is no longer a fight about who is the best p4p-fighter. GGG is definitely a better p4p-fighter today than both Floyd and Manny.
But yes, casual boxing fans want to see the nostalgic exhibition-match between Floyd and Manny. However, they much prefer Golovkin vs Mayweather which will be a more dramatic fight.
Casual boxing fans want drama and in Golovkin vs Mayweather they will get great drama.
The fight Manny vs Floyd doesn't create as much drama, because Manny doesn't have the ferociousness he had 5 years ago.
Casual boxing fans know what I wrote above, and those who don't know it will be informed during the promotion, so Golovkin vs Mayweather will get the highest PPV-numbers.

Floyd v Pac v Ali Raymi in a triple threat match - 10million buys.
2 biggest names in the sport and the record rd 1 KO holder.
Get HBO! You make a fool out of yourself not knowing who Gennady Golovkin is.
