Does he? At 122, Rigondeaux vs Pacquiao. Rigondeaux has been knocked down like 3-4 times against Donaire, Cordoba and now Amagasa, at the same time he also dropped Cordoba and Amagasa and beat Amagasa's face to a pulp, as well as schooling Donaire. Pacquiao was KO'ed twice at the lower weights but also racked up the majority of his KO's down there. Pacquiao was also outboxed and outfought by Marquez and Morales at 126 and 130. Surely, Rigondeaux suffers a knock down or two against Pacquiao, but Pacquiao likely suffers a pack of bruises and swollen eyes/orbital bones like those other fighters who try to be aggressive against Rigo.
this is a joke right? manny back in the days is relentless, huge @ 122 and will probably blast rigo, people just cant respect manny, he's a proven elite!
What ppl miss when one talks about Pac's match-up vs a Rigo or Mayweather's style fighter is that the ppl who have success or close to it against these guys do so using some sort of rough housing tactics of which is not Pac's style of fighting. Pac's style of fighting is one of the cleanness in the ring. That lack of rough housing style will allow a guy like Floyd or Rigo to pick him apart. A with a guy like Floyd and Rigo, you either are more skilled than they are, or you fight them nasty and foul.
rigo knocks pac out cold in 1st round..pacquiao throws wild weak punches and has no defense at all.. the only way pac will win against rigo is DQ or robbery
At 122lb, Pacquiao was a very basic one handed fighter with little refinement. A counterpuncher the level of Rigondeaux would have been a nightmare for Pacquiao, on a level even worse than Marquez was.
Okay, so Rigondeaux might taste the canvas. If we have learned anything from him, he gets tagged, might go down, might wobble, but recovers basically instantly. Never loses composure.
Sounds like Marquez, but harder to hit, and with better footwork.
Would definitely be a great fight to see.
PAC could stop rigo and has fragile as rigo's chin is and as monstrous as pacs left hand was at those weights he could prbly do it with one shot. But if he can stay on his feet and fend off pacs violent assault rigo can out box him
I thought this fight already happened long time ago.
Well joking aside most probably the outcome would be the same. Too much power for Rigo to handle from Pac. Pac was a ko monster at 122.
Probably because Pac was so young and inexperienced then. When he lost to Torrecampo he was 17 or 18 and it was only his 12th fight or something. Rigo is in his thirties and has one of the greatest amateur careers in history behind him.
I wouldn't read too much into Rigo's knockdowns either though.
That's what I mean though. Shouldnt look into it so much. Almost every fighter goes down at some point. Many times against unheralded opposition.
If you just found this out you must be one of those idiot 12 year olds who post here
Dont talk reckless and assume because it makes you look like an idiot.
Im a fan of pac but I dont know exactly how many fights he has in each division and if he won by ko or not...
If you do then good for you but I don't have time for all that.
Just found out that pac had 12 fights at 122.
11 by ko and 1 draw against sanchez who was fighting dirty

Why do people bring up Rigo going down to a few "c" fighters but not Pac being KOd by a few himself. Lol.

Anyway, it would seem Rigo is a bad matchup...stylistically. Rigo is also a big puncher at 122 and I'm not sure Pac at 122 was as good as Donaire at 122. I feel like Pac got better as soon as he left 122 actually and wasn't as much of a left handed fighter imo. Still, Pac was a pretty f uckin big 122 lol.
I'd call it a toss up with a stlistic favoring for Rigo and a considerable size advantage for Pac.
