i've had high hopes for pascal in the past. but
now i think pascal has the same problem jermain taylor had.
both these guys arent that intelligent.
hahahahahhahahahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaha
I think he has a puncher's chance in this fight.... plus he has alot of speed, that if used correctly he can cause alot of problems for kova... hopkins was suppose to be the guy to test kova, but he simply didn't fight... i think pascal will fight!
I agree. I favor Kovalev, but I still question the way he resets. I believe Pascal will have a better fight than the Legendary BHOP
Pascal has never been stopped, he was the first to beat dawson who at the time was seen as the best light heavyweight in the world.
pascal is very fast but he trains to be as explosive as possible and this makes his stamina not the best.
pascal has a bunch of good trainers with a whole team and he will use big bear so kovalev has to find a new place to have his training camp
kovalev has fought fast boxers before, sillakh is very fast and was also trained by jones jr, kovalev countered him nicely as soon as sillakh planted his feets.
Pascal is a live dog, should be a entertainig fight
Yes, I give him a chance.. He is the underdog, yes... But pascal has an awkward style, big fight experience, and will be a lot more competitive than hopkins was..pascal is gonna test kovolev's stamina and his chin when tired..
I think kovolev beats him, but to think a guy like pascal doesn't have a chance is ridiculous..
Just ask froch and dawson, if pascal isn't a tough cookie...
I predict a 117-111 or 116-112 win for kovolev, but pascal is tricky and if he finds his awkward rythmn, he could pose a lot of problems for kovolev
He does have a punchers chance. Pascal is a ruthless opponent but I'm not sure how he will fair against the power of Kovalev. I think it will be a great match and there will definitely be fireworks.
I got Kovalev by late KO
Pascal has a good chin, and good feet. He defends differently to Hopkins using range, he will have the quicker hands.
Think it will be a great fight, I think it's a harder fight for Kovalev than Stevenson who in my opinion is a one handed fighter. You only have to worry about his left.
I got pascal by ud...i think that pascals speed and explosiveness will bother kovalev a bunch...even though he kept bhop on the outside pascal is bigger stronger and faster...i dont see kovalev koing pascal...id say 55/45 pascal...its funny how fast an elite fighter like pascal can get wrote off here because a guy has 1 legit win...u can argue pascal has more power since he dropped bhop twice and kovalev could barely wobble bhop since everyone is using the bhop fights as lithmus tests
Hopkins threw like the same amount of punches that Kovalev landed and stayed super defensive the whole fight while Kovalev pressed....Hopkins never came close to beating Kovalev... Hopkins should've had 2 straight wins with Pascal

If the Gameplan is trying to use Speed Advantage and just use Backfoot Fighting the entire fight and fight like he is just terrified of his Power, then Pascal gets knocked out late
However, if Pascal mix things up and do some work INSIDE to go with him using movement and timing, then he could be a match up nightmare for Kovalev. I think INSIDE is where you disrupt Kovalev, but like against B-Hop, Kovalev showed that he can keep his opponent from getting inside and maintain his distance
60/40 leaning towards Kovalev
Exactly I got a feeling Pascal's gonna humiliate that boy, he beats a 50yr old and they get hype lol. This boy hasn't even earned 7 figures unlike Stevenson who is the clear A side.
The same old guy that beat Pascal twice...yeah yeah triangle theories don't always hold much water, but it's gotta' mean something...
Anyhow I'll bet some points on a Kovalev victory when fight time comes around, if you care to back that hunch. :)
Has Kovalev ever been against a fighter of Pascal's caliber? Regarding speed? And didn't Kovalev legs went wobbly for a short moment in his fight against Hopkins? (i don't remember the round, i haven't re-watched the fight)
Pascal got power but not (Kovalev/Stevenson type of power) but he has power through his speed.
Speed kills.
Pascal got a nice chance especially with Roy Jones Jr in his corner and having a 12 round under his belt against Carl Froch.
Pascal knows how to win and knows what losing is.
Kovalev knows he can win but never tasted defeat.
To be continued.
I pick Pascal but i'm uncertain of which way he could win tho.
I don't think Pascal will but Kovalev has never been truly pushed in a physical sense. B-Hop tested his mental approach and Kovalev proved he had the patience for that but B-Hop did not do that much to him.
I don't really think Pascal is the guy (just not the right abilities and attributes) that is going to push Kovalev in that way but it is not entirely impossible as he is still a quality fighter.
Sure. Pascal is a good fighter in the upper tier around his weight.
I think the Krusher will KO him, but Pascal ain't anyboy's can, so we'll see.
Should be interesting.
