"Oh Floyd won't fight Khan cuz he's too fast". Same $h!t different day with Hatton, Cotto, and Alvarez.
Floyd already knows he can beat these guys. Floyd knows Khan can not only be out boxed but he can easily be knocked out.
Read between the lines. People thought Hatton, Mosley, Alvarez, Ortiz, Maidana, De La Hoya were all going to give Floyd his first loss. Although there's a reason Floyd didn't give De La Hoya and Cotto a rematch. On paper these guys look legit but in reality Floyd knows these guys won't be able to pick up.
Not to make this a Mayweather/Pacquiao thread...Floyd knows only Manny Pacquiao is the only one who will be able to trade gloves with him mano a mano, great for great, stamina for stamina, skills for skills. Floyd knows Manny Pacquiao will bring it from the first round to the final round like it was the first round!
Boxing fans who are letting Floyd get away from an a$$ whooping from Manny Pacquiao listen up!
Floyd already knows people will buy the Khan fight! People bought the Ortiz fight right? People bought the Guerrero fight didn't they? How about the Maidana fight?
It's Khan vs. Floyd next. Deal with it. Don't complain. That's what you all asked for. You guys don't want to see him fight Pacquiao. You guys let him off the hook by buying his bs excuses that Pacquiao needs to fire Bob Arum to make the fight happen or Pacquiao needs to accept Floyd's demands of 99/1 split with the money.
In short, the boxing fans are allowing and had been allowing of letting Floyd choose his opponents. Fighters that don't really have a chance may I add but only look good on paper.
And if you disagree you have every right to state your opinion but mine stays clear. Floyd will fight Khan and he will forever avoid the next best man next to Floyd the man...PACMAN!
I think Miguel Cotto might be thebdark hirse in all of this. Hes yet to agree to fight Canelo. If Floyd doesnt fight Pacquiao, fighting Cotto would ruin ODLH's May 2nd plans.
floyd v cotto for the 160 title is definitely a possibility. in fact I think it's the most likely alternative for mayweather if a fuight with pacquiao doesnt get made.

Khan is probably a tougher fight for Floyd than Pacquiao is.
The way you're making it sound is as if Khan has no chance against Floyd but the truth is he has never faced a style like Khan's and the last fighter with speed he fought (Judah) gave him a lot trouble.
Pacquiao and Khan probably have about an equal shot against Floyd, there's no denying that Khan has improved - his last two dominant performances against decent fighters have shown that he's a level above.
And that's exactly why Floyd vs Khan will sell. People think Khan has a great chance. Again if you look at it yes Khan can win the fight. But there are things that your eyes cannot see and that's true greatness.
See the difference between Khan and the rest of the fighters that Floyd fought is that they all THINK they can beat Floyd. Manny KNOWS he can. That's the reason why Khan won't win the fight and that's the reason why Manny Pacquiao will win the fight.
By the way that's the same reason why Floyd can never beat Pacquiao and why he'll never get in the ring with Pacquiao. Floyd only THINKS he can beat Pacquiao. Floyd doesn't KNOW if he really can!
Roy Jones said it best.
As soon as the Pacquiao fights happens, it's over for both fighters. Who else do you want to see them fight? In the grand scheme of things.
Which is very sad for boxing because who are those two compared to Manny Pacquiao's greatness?!?
If you guys don't see the significance of Floyd fighting Pacquiao this May I give up...
Pacquiao isn't getting in the ring with any champ at WW anytime soon ... Not to mention he hasn't in about 6 years. Pacquiao is a 140 fighter who campaigns at WW and just brings guys up with no resume at that weight and usually beats them but we've also seen it backfire. Here's a list of people pacquiao will never fight ...
Thurman
Maidana
Brook
Porter
Khan?
Mathysse
Garcia
And the list goes on.
To make it an even shorter list:
Anyone with Haymon
Anyone not with top rank.
*the only caveat is a situation like Algeri (star boxing) where the guy is heavily outgunned coming off a decent win.
Floyd don't really want Khan nor Pacquiao. But who would he rather fight without looking like a real coward?!? To Floyd a Khan fight makes business sense. He may or may not make a lot of money compare to him fighting Pacquiao but he gets to keep his undefeated record. Which one would you choose?!?

Floyd is gonna fight Garcia or Brook next.

I agree with everything you said. I'm a fan of both, and I've been saying it from the beginning. It's 50-50 both their fault. If they wanted it so bad it would of happened point blank! I agree on Khan also, as long as it's after May vs Pac.
How can you blame Pacquiao when he wants the fight? That's like blaming Vitali Klitschko for Lennox Lewis' retirement and avoiding the rematch.
50-50?!? I don't think so. Floyd is avoiding the fight!!!
I don't think Mayweather is afraid of Khan. Khan looked great against Alexander but he never really hurt him. Khan isn't this scary KO specialist. Floyd has said he is not fighting Khan until Khan builds a bigger name. When Floyd says that why would I think Khan will be his next fight.
And I call you a smart boxing fan!
its quite obvious he wants pacquiao for win # 50.
he's gonna cash that massive uk check that is amir khan and end his career facing pacquiao.
two massive pay days then call it a day.
i dont know why these repugnant flowmoes are fronting so hard.
they know this is the exit strategy of floyd.
they know this but want to pretend its about other things.
Pacquiao being 50 will depend on how Pacquiao is looking by then. Floyd's main goal is to retire without taking punishments. Hence why he avoided the Pacquiao that retired Oscar and Ricky Hatton.
Floyd: Don't really want Khan, I prefer Pacquiao on May 2
Typical NSB idiot: It's a secret Illuminati conspiracy, sshh! He wants Khan next!

Khan has been Floyd main target for over a year now. Floyd is dying to fight him. He knows it will pretty much be an exhibition.
Oh yes! And the fight will sold millions! A Khan/Mayweather is as close as it gets to a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight!
We all envisioned that Pacquiao's fast hands and fast movement will end Floyd's career! And we all envisioned Khan doing the same thing.
Question is, could khan v mayweather outsell cotto v canelo? Is it. A big enough fight to get HBO to back off
You bet it will sell more. My mom doesn't know who Cotto and Alavarez are but she knows Floyd. People will buy to see Floyd fight period. With Khan being in the picture. Yes it will sold more. Especially Khan brings that aura that he can beat Floyd. We have that certain feeling in our belly that Khan might just out boxed Floyd, that Khan might just give Floyd his first loss. The fight will sell for sure!
That's the beauty of this fight for Floyd. He knows the whole UK will watch the fight. He knows the whole world will watch the fight. And at the same time, he knows he can win the fight!
But to be fair though which is it??
There are alot of threads that have been made lately, post as well saying he is DUCKING Khan, and that Khan would beat Floyd.
So he avoids Pacquiao, and also is avoiding Khan, but willing to fight Khan?
Look man. Khan is easy work for Floyd. On paper he looks to be another guy who will give Floyd his first loss. In reality Khan is easy work for Floyd!
Don't buy the BS. You think Khan will do damage. You think Khan will land his shots because he has fast hands. You think Khan will win the fight! That's what everybody said about Floyd's last 40 something opponents!
Floyd will fight Khan period. People will buy the fight because nobody knows anything about boxing anymore.
We are so dumb that we will buy the Floyd/Khan fight while Floyd dodges another fight with Pacquiao.
Then people will complain again and again about Floyd ducking Pacquiao.
The time is now. Floyd vs. Pacquiao!
Well this time, at least it was Bob's fault.
How are you going to blame Bob Arum when there's a guy that goes by the name MONEY that don't want to take a hundred mil?!?
