Was he a bit more exciting before the Collazo fight, sure. Even in the Collazo fight it was far from boring in my opinion. He did clinch and hold a lot but was active when he didn't do those things and still put on a great performance.
A trainer finally has got Khan to fight in a style to protect his chin which involes clinching and holding. I don't see how as a boxing fan you can hate on a fighter for trying to overcome his weakness by changing up his style of fighting.
If Wlad never fought the way he's been fighting for so long perhaps he would have been KO'd a few more times before retiring with his suspect chin but instead he adpated to a style which helps prolong his career and gives opponents less chance of KO'ing him.
Inb4 the usual low IQ sub humans on this forum that can't comprehend what I've written.
I don't mind a little clinching if the rest of the fight makes up for it, Lewis was really fun to watch and Amir can be as well.
I find it funny that everybody sharts on Khan for the Diaz fight but forget that Porter went life and death with him as well. Porter got all the love for a while and Amir....well we know what he got and I can't believe this thread isn't full of it.
A lot of the reason for Khan's clinching is basically a lot to do with his lack of an inside game.
The Peterson fight exposed Khan's vulnerabilities.
When Khan holds and leans he also gets a rest, which is important as he has a high 'in and out' work rate.
It is all 100% legal, if not that easy on the eye.
This facet of Khan's game will be more prevalent with Hunter now coaching him, but IMO it won't be enough to help Khan steal rounds against more experienced or clever fighters (like Floyd).
And the chin problem is always there anyway.
I think Khan can potentially look great against Devon. It's a good style match for Khan but I don't know if it will be all that competitive.
You think so? I feel like its going to be an ugly fight that ill have to chug a bottle of wine to. Not looking forward to the main events on Saturday.
I don't even know why people are excited about this fight, it's a horrible style matchup.

I'm as big a Khan fan as the next guy but I wouldn't say he has a "new style" yet. He made some good defensive adjustments that worked vs Collazo. Tomorrow he will test them out vs a world class operator. If he wins, we can talk about the "new style".
I agree with you, good comparison to wlad, and ill add Lennox to the discussion as well, regarding fighters who excelled when their chin was protected. As for the question, Amir's ****in annoying, talented, yes, but we both know people "hate" him because of his attitude. Regardless of what he does in the ring, until he stops acting like a kunt, people will want to see him on a stretcher.
