Man am I sick of hearing this guys name on the lips of everyone from 160 to 175. I have to admit for a while I was impressed with how much he improved from the start of his career, but that's about it. The guy was coming in MASSIVE comparted to his MW opposition, got gifted a belt, decided to stop training and making weight. The only thing that doesn't bother me is the pot stuff....if a boxer wants to smoke pot who cares, it's NOT a PED.
Anyway generic opening rant over and on to the fact that he better get paid for his next fight because the guys that are mentioning his name would mangle the kid in the ring. I think his "granite chin" had a lot to do with being a couple of divisions above his opponent on fight night.
I mean lets put this into perspective-he went life and death, or 1-1, with Brian fricken Vera. Triangle theories don't generally work in boxing but come on, Vera was handled by Rosado(whom I respect, but still) It's true styles make fights, but in this triangle theory I'm basing it more on talent and maybe power. Does anyone really think Froch or GGG and the rest wouldn't kill Rosado(GGG did with the flu) and Vera?
I don't even get why Arum would be trying to hang on to this kid, his career is going to implode real soon. Well maybe Al can get him on the Garcia diet and prolong it for a bit, but next big fight he gets starched.

It's called money, and you clearly don't understand the way the business of boxing works.
Chavez is a money earner, that makes him relevant.
I think that saying would have to be reversed regarding Julio
Nah he isn't a slimmed down heavy, he is a blown up middle if you catch my drift. It will be funny when he is competing at heavyweight though in like 5 years. Then he can earn that real heavyweight money.
I just wish that he took the fight with GGG. Bob should've offered him whatever he wanted for that fight and got an option on Golovkin... because GGG would've probably destroyed Jr's career anyway in that fight.
Bruh is like 200 pounds

Can you imagine him fighting at 175 or Cruiser...he wouldn't just lose, he would get injured
He can get stretched by Carl Froch, put on a great show against Saul Alvarez at middleweight, and then ride off into the sun a few million dollars/pesos richer.
Yes that about sums it up, but I would wager he'd be starched by Canelo and wouldn't even be able to make 160

He's an entertaining boxer with a famous name.
Really hoping that Froch-Chavez gets made, it would be a war!
It would be a war in the same sense as the last invasion of Iraq and that's about it.
He gets big rating because of his name, how long before the game is up though.....he can only be clowned so many times before his fans realize they are being clowned as well.
He can no longer compete at 160 and there are only clownings in his future above that weight....hell he got clowned at that weight.
My point is all of the fights on the horizon for him are going to end badly and how long can you bring in ratings with that happening? It would be different if he were competetive, but I really don't think that will be the case(both Vera fights indicate this)
Of course he's getting paid. That's why everyone wants to fight him, because he's going to bring in big money regardless of who he fights. So don't worry about Chavez's payday.

I think he pulls the highest ratings for HBO. For Top Rank, it's better to have him tied up than have him making money for a competitor.
