beaten tonight's Pulev and Povetkin on the same night and still have some energy left to spare. It's such a shame that one of the most explosive fighters to ever enter the ring is so inactive due to the numerous injuries.
P.S. For the record, this is NOT a knock on Wlad as I am sure he would be able to do the same.
If Povetkin and Haye's entire HW careers consisted of their fights with Wlad, then Haye would have the slight edge, but alas they do not.
Very few people who do not read British tabloids considered the victories over retirees Ruiz and Harrison to be amazing feats. Povetkin has a couple opportunistic geezer wins (like Rahman) but he has consistently faced fit young HWs in eliminators and beaten all of them while Haye has stalled and whined.
He WOULD be the champion if Wlad wasn't around. His size would leave him vulnerable to all the giants coming up in the division, but he would be the top guy, not Haye.
Easy way to settle this though... Tell Haye to stop retiring every week and fight Povetkin. Alexander would sign it in a day.
Word. ^^^^^^^
Haha utterly ridiculous isn't it? That's the injury that rendered him totally useless.

Forget the "Injured Toe" - Haye's feet as a whole look weird as fuck.
WTF is happening between his big toe and the next?

I reckon that all these Russian, Bulgarian and American boxing 'fans' dislike Haye because they know that he would brutally embarrass all their HWs on the same night. Pulev, Povotkin, etc. and all their blind fans are probably praying that Haye stays retired and doesn't expose their heroes.
Speak of the devil :pat::
At his absolute peak (which he should still be in right now), Haye was never as good as Povetkin.
Totally agreed, Povetkin is world class.
I don't see Haye outboxing or KOing Alexander.
Wlad vs. Haye was a cometitive fight with Haye never being in trouble and rocking Wlad in the 12th. The scores were 117–109, 117–111 and 116–110.
Older, past prime Wlad vs. Povotkin was a complete whitewash with Povotkin going down more often than my girlfriend. The scores were 119-104, 119-104 and 119-104.
You were saying?

This is not going to be a popular opinion. But somewhat in sync with this thread...
1. I think that Haye could have won more rounds than given credit for. Some have up to 5, but I think 4 is more reasonable.
2. Haye gave Wladimir his toughest fight since Samuel Peter and the toughest until Povetkin.
3. Haye was Wladimir's fastest, slickest and most skilled opponent who also had explosive power.
4. Haye vs Wladimir, although usually slammed as a fight, actually featured some of the best displays of skills and reflexes of any HW fight of all time!
Haye rematch could be the best WK opponent available given his shoulder will not prevent a return to form.
Good post. David did very well in the first fight and would've won had it not been for his injury. Wlad is way past his prime now, so Haye would most likely KO him in the rematch.

Yea say what you want about Haye I mean he's a scoundrel, a poser, weak minded, traitor, a liar, no heart, a narcissist...........but I don't think I was the only one excited for the division when Haye was KTFO opponents in the heavyweight division. He has great speed, a great style, killer over hand right but I mean how can you have any hope for a guy who has a business plan revolving around sh*t talking, not putting out in the fight, and disappearing for a while and coming back as a "reinvented" or "changed" humbled man only to pull the same crap again. Now Haymon's pulling the reign's for him..don't expect anything different
Fool me once, twice, three time's? I must be an idiot to buy ppv with this chump ever again.
How does you saying something make it a fact?
That said... it could be you're right - according to Boxrec there's 1093 active professional HWs. 1% of them is 10 which means you're crediting the Hayemaker with being #11.
Bit harsh really.
I'd probably shoehorn him into the top 10 myself if he still remembers how to fight by the time he gets back in the ring.
David Haye doesn't have to fight all those 1093 active heawyweights for any knowledgeable boxing fan to be able to tell that he'll beat them. There is a huge gap in skill and athleticism between Haye and the rest of the division and only a blind hater or a person who DKSAB won't admit to it.
Also, the Hayemaker wiping the floor with 99% of today's heawyweights (in other words, knocking them spark out) doesn't mean that he wouldn't clown and outpoint the rest 1%. Please keep your assumptions to yourself next time, Hayeter.

If Haye's still the fighter he was, he'd destroy Pulev. Problem is that I don't think he is. If the shoulder was truly fixed I think he'd have been back by now.

I don't think even Haye's die hard fans backed him on this one.
that thing would use some manicure, that's for sure
Is THAT the legendary toe injury? Wow
I expected at least some significant discoloration or something
What a ****ing clown

Lots of Hayeters out there. The fact of the matter is that Mr. Haye would wipe the floor with 99% of today's Heawyweights without breaking a sweat and you know it.

For good reason. Haye is the poster boy for celebrity fighters.
