who cares honestly, you think any major promoter is gonna give him a shot with their fighters even if he wins this fight? he had one shot to put himself back into the mix and he blew it bigtime.
What fight were you watching? Gamboa gained a lot of respect and marketability, even in a loss. Gamboa-Crawford is one of the highest rated fights of the year. I could definitely see a TV network like HBO forcing a (future) super featherweight to fight Gamboa. Walters looks massive for 126...Only a matter of time before he moves up. There's rumors of Lomachenko eventually moving up to 130. Also, let's not forget about the Mikey Garcia fight(although, that seems like a long shot at this point).
i could see HBO forcing those fights in the near future. What Gamboa needs to do is leave his part time promoter and sign with someone who will keep him active.
Totally, the crazy thing is, his fight on Saturday came about because the Mexican promoter reached out to him. 50 didn't even get him the fight.
that's interesting. I know Gamboa has been exploring the option of building a career in mexico for a while now.

That's crazy, Mexico showing Yuri some love, 50 Cent sucks as a promoter.
Yeah I agree, he needs to be a lot more active in 2015.

He has a chance at that weight, only issue I see is, there's alot of crude, powerful guys there. Even fortuna could knock his head off. I think his skills are superior but we all know he can be hurt. Will be interesting.

I would say just keep winning at 130 and try to unify the titles there in 2015.

me too, when i read about this fight here, it said that it was at lightweight
It is because it's at 132 , but, from what I've read, he's planning to move back down. Smart choice. He's a great talent but is really limited by his height and short limbs. That being said, I can't think of anyone I enjoy watching more. Guy fights balls out and has serious skills.
Gamboa vs Lomachenko in the future at 130 would be massive. Gamboa vs Walters could be an amazing event as well, whenever Walters is done terrorising the FW division and decides to move up :lol1:. There are tons of names at 130(not all good, but decent for the most part), and i'm sure he can get back up in the mix of action quite easily. One of my favourite fighters, such a shame to see how mishandled his career has been for the past few years.
Let's see how Gamboa looks this Saturday. It looks like he is being matched up light vs light competition. Love to see a scrap with Loma at 130.

Lol look at this fake ass dude pretending he likes Mexicans :haha: take that pic out of your avi. That's like me having a pic of mantequilla after all the mess I've talked...
Why would I take it out?

Just happy to see the man back.
Talent wise, he looked great against Crawford despite a year long lay off and being far too small for the weight. A more natural weight class and activity should be nothing but good.
The only thing required is the mind set to keep himself from getting reckless when he feels in control. He got away with it against guys his own size, but against Crawford he wasboxing brilliantly, got control and then he started taking chances to look more exciting and it cost him.
Same here. very glad to see him back in action.
Gamboa showed signs of brilliance early vs Crawford but got blown out as soon as he opened up like you said. Not sure if it was size difference or Yuri's wreck less defense- or both!. Will love to see Gamboa improve defensively no matter what weight he fights at.
You never know - he might become the next Mantequilla in Mexico!
