need to be called out.
there were ALOT of you
where are you now ?
some really embarrassing things being said, which concludes the fact that most of you don't know sh*t about boxing.
had you even seen kovalev before?
51 posters picked kova by decision, 6 of those came after the decision nimrod....267 picked kova by ko.... same as a certain somebody who ws a 42-1 favorite back in 1990....oh but i forget what we are talking about people bet e-money now, true story though people went broke after that fight.. so pretty much out of the 300+ posters who went for kovalev only 45 got the actual verdict right..
Stfu already. Whether by ko or decision, Kovalev was picked to win period. We saw that Hopkins level of competition had been garbage and kovalev was a real fighter with a background. You simply picked Hopkins because you were star struck.
You're assuming that just because all you saw in Kovalev was "a punch", everyone else thought the same thing.
Some people are obviously much better observers and saw that Kovalev is much more than just a brawler.
Your choice may have been logical to you, given your limited information (a lot of western fans conveniently ignore the fact that the eastern Euro style has taken over boxing for irrational emotional reasons, thus diminishing their analytical abilities), but not the logical choice in an absolute sense.
Then again why am I bothering? In this thread you described Calzaghe as a "puncher". I don't think your perception is repairable. Just stick to the forums and don't bet any real money.
only a bieber fan would say that he picked both ko and ud, so he could stay face and make the illusion that he knows what the fuk he is talking about... sorry mr bieber only 45 posters actually picked the right choice....and you are not one of them!
Did you put your moms basement and your piggy bank on Bernard last night? The Fvck kind of stupid question is that?

so you would go against a veteran fighter whos has never been koed in his entire career, simply because he his fighting an inexperianced fighter with a punch???

you would have put your house and life savings on a kovalev ko????

A lot of mofos thought this was gon be easy work for Hopkins. 120-106. Lol I wanted him to get ktfo though. It's ok, he got shut out and embarrassed after sticking out his tongue. Kovalev hammered him in the last rd for doing that.
You're the only garbage here. Kovalev won. We picked him because we knew hopkins had been facing low level opposition. In kovalev, it's easy to see he was a different level once you get past him not being American. People like you thought he was just a slow plodder with heavy hands who could only move forward. He didn't KO him but he was on his way. But he fought smart and took his time doing exactly what Hopkins did to win fights.
see but this is where you dont know whats going on here....
the ts is making it a big deal about the posters who picked hopkins by ud...now hopkins never being koed in his entire career would you think that is such a bad choice??/
2) ts says hopkins has only faced 1 or 2 "punchers" in his entire career... now is that really true, despite my comment about joe calzaghe?
im not disputing this at all, this is about trying to call out people who picked hopkins by decision here, how is that a bad choice???? there are 267 posters who believed in kovas power and were let down because it went 12 rounds.... but nobody is making threads about that, like this clown..
It's not a bad choice and as I've said earlier I thought Hopkins would win a decision.
He was utterly dominated by a guy who hasn't been past 8 rounds: that's impressive.
fuk that , this idiot makes a thread about the people who picked the logical choice here... and your a retard mr bieber, i already gave kova full credit for his win so you dont know what you are talking about....when a dude says hopkins has only faced 1 or 2 punchers, not BIG punchers but punchers that is obviously incorrect, and why would you be so indecisive on how kova would win? pick a ko or pick a decision, not both after the fact....cmon man anybody can do that and say they know boxing.
Kovalev was the logical choice.
They saying stuff like this now.
"I think he did actually take Sergey Kovolev to school in that he extended him the distance and snapped his knockout streak. ...and also exposed a few "flaws" in Kovolev's style ..but I have a lot more respect for Kovolev, now"
:haha:
So what you're saying is that even though Hopkins lost and your prediction was incorrect, the "logic" you used in generating the prediction was so historically sound that you are vindicated by being completely wrong, because in the process the pattern you noticed turned out to be a non-pattern?
That makes so much sense. Sorry I questioned you.
so you would go against a veteran fighter whos has never been koed in his entire career, simply because he his fighting an inexperianced fighter with a punch???
damn where have i heard this before?>..... oh yeah that fight with that guy who was a 42-1 favorite to ko a certain fighter(though he was stopped before)maybe that was a reason why he was a 42-1 underdog...maybe??you think???
had 267 posters bet their life savings on a ko win by kovalev, there would be alot of broke people living in the streets like they were back in 1990... its a true story people lost their homes picking a "Ko" win which back then was a logical choice considering the fighters right???
but he didnt get koed doe like the 267 posters who suggested he would, although he has never been koed in his entire career......this just shows that has kova steps up in competition its more likely he will go the distance.... he will not ko everybody as ts suggests... its ludacris to think that.http://a1.ec-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/63/74d069fa770145e7aa298ea50f6031ac/l.png
Congratulations to Sergey Kovalev and his fans on a dominating victory over Bernard Hopkins. I'll admit I got this one wrong and because of it I'll eat my share of humble pie. I thought that the Krusher outfoxed the old fox in there.
Hopkins as always was typical Hopkins. He was attempting to lure Kovalev into certain traps by fighting at a slower pace but very wisely the Kriusher wasn't biting at all. He actually out boxed the boxer by sticking to the game plan and not getting overly reckless with his power.
All in all I was very impressed with both his poise and discipline and for that I tip my hat to him. So good luck champ and here's wishing you much success in the future.
This is a never ending cycle in BS. Truth is, we all get some right and some wrong. I was rooting for Kovalev hard but to be completely honest, I had no idea how it was going to unfold. Very unpredictable fight with very unique set of circumstances, variables and intangibles.
Just hug it out, it was a fun and memorable night of boxing.
when you are knocking out 50% or more of the opponents you face, you can punch a little bit........were not talking about malignaggi here.... this thread is garbage..

I'm right here. And I'll lose taking my chances with a proven fighter like Hopkins before I jump on a hype train, 7-days a week. In this case, I was wrong. I go with fighters that have proven something in big fights so MAYBE next time I'll pick Kovalev to win, depending on who he is fighting.
