-Roy Jones "hopkins boring in his prime,he is boring now"!

RJJ is correct to a certain extent. He should know. He is one of the most entertaining fighters to watch. In general, those who hold as part of their boxing strategy/technique are boring to watch. And those who don't are fan friendly.

It's funny because when Hopkins first won a belt, he was considered a puncher and had interviews where he said he knew he needed to be exciting and win by KO, because that's what the fans want.

Jones is quite nice in that vid tbh and he is spot on, Hops can be boring and has almost always been boring. None of that takes away from the fact that Hopkins will go down as the greater fighter. Period. between the 2??? id say so his longevity in the sport is truly amazing and he has outlasted onE of the greatest lhw to ever lace them up... and i do agree with the hopkins is boring part, though he has changed his style a bit and became more fan friendly... i remember i had to think very long and hard about ordering the hopkins/wright fight, and had i not had family to pitch in with, i woulda passed.... but fortunately that fight was better then i ever anticipated...LOL

Roy is still jelly cause Hopkins surpassed his resume. Jones should have fought Darius Michazelwski. In a recent interview Jones stated he is now back, training his fighters restored the hunger and skills he once had! So he just needs a few big fights to surpass Hopkins :lol1:

He was more or less (and even mentions the Spurs at the end of the interview) saying that Hopkins is the San Antonio Spurs of boxing.
