Mayweather is a natural 147 pounder and has been, he couldn't drop down two pounds against Marquez and was fined. Marquez when up to fight Mayweather, but then went back down to lightweight for his next two fights as he felt he didn't belong in that weight division as he was too slow and heavy.
Form Floyds natural weight of 147lbs, Thats moving up close to three weight divisions to fight GGG at his natural weight class.
How old is Mayweather anyways? we will compare how old Marquez was in his career when he made the jump. I'll tell you, Mayweather is 36yrs old now, same age Marquez was when he made his jump of three weight divisions against a faster, stronger, and heavier fighter.
Marquez moving up three weight divisions to fight Mayweather = Mayweather moving up three weight divisions to fight GGG.
If beating a fighter who jumped three weight divisions for the first time is such a great win for FLoyd, Why wouldn't fans want to see a great win for Floyd against GGG? after all, weight does not matter, skills do.

Shame you are that kind of poster and fan. You can't answer a question directly just because the answer reflects poorly on manny.
The narrative has stayed consistent since the beginning. Floyd is the only one putting them roadblocks. Floyd didn't want the fight. Wake up and smell the coffee.
Floyd didn't even take on Manny 2014. Which Manny is Floyd looking for?

Bro dont even waste your time with this moron. He thinks Floyds offers are reasonable. :AOR:
i don't even know why a boring, clinching, running, potshotting, extremely defensive boxer is the one making offers. people pay to see him lose. that's what's been driving his ppv numbers. added to the mystery he unintentionally created by pulling fake retirements and taking long vacations. of course people were curious. it was an unintentional consequence which benefited him. but now people are getting tired of seeing the running, clinching, potshotting, UD'ying nature of his fights.
lol marquez gained 8 pounds to fight floyd, floyd would have to gain 13 to fight ggg..lol some people.
I am confused by this math, maybe I am not reading it right or missed the context of the conversation, but 13 lbs for floyd to move up to fight GGG!?!?!
from here, that dog won't hunt.... 147 is welter weight, 154 is the next weight class where GGG said he'd drop down to, to make a fight with floyd happen.
oh, maybe I just figured it out, you're talking about floyd going all the way up to 160..... ok, got it, and I am not going to delete this now that I figured out what you were saying, because I typed all this in so far, lol.
ok, proceed fellas....
Bro dont even waste your time with this moron. He thinks Floyds offers are reasonable. :AOR:
Another manny diehard who wants to focus on quality of the offer to divert attention away from the refusal. Offers are not bad just because manny isn't getting what he thinks he is entitled to.
No, Manny didn't refuse the fight. Manny refused to be bullied and called a PEDs cheat. What Manny AND Floyd refused were the counter offers made by the other ..... but you notice, the sticking point is always Floyd's NEW roadblocks!
I had given Floyd the benefit of the doubt initially but always suspected that Floyd just didn't want no part of that version of Manny. Remember that "health comes first". Floyd knew that win or lose, a different version of Floyd would be seen after those 12 or fewer rounds. Floyd just didn't want to go thru that.
Floyd took the easy way out and put them roadblocks.
As for having to join Top Rank. Can you please stop it with that nonsense. It's not making you look good. Mosley and Marquez have nothing to do with Manny vs Floyd. Even then, both Mosley and Marquez were with none other than GB. Well, Schaeffer (GB) and Top Rank were in a feud so it was a natural process that had to happen for it to be made easily.
Floyd and Manny are at a different level. Both are PPV attractions. What Floyd did was to put a roadblock that Floyd knew would never happen. That should show you how much Floyd wants the fight. Nothing else. It's like all the other roadblocks. They only happen after Manny accepts the previous roadblocks.
Each roadblock has an expiry date for Floyd. The expiry date starts when Manny accepts!

i'm just telling you that even if pacman agreed to all of your idol's demands, the fight would still not have happened. you keep assuming it would have. you need to stop this bs. negotiations can happen multiple times. you treat tbe as if he's a child, "waaah, waaah, i won't be your friend anymore, you took my toy...waaah" this guy calls himself MONEY. he can make the biggest money fight of his career if he wanted to. but he won't. he's scared.
Still doesn't change the fact the bluff wasn't called. It's easy to say the guy who put his money on the table had nothing after you fold your hand.
No one. No one. Now I have a couple questions.
Did manny refuse the fight? Did manny's promoter make 2 of his opponents leave their promoter and sign with TR to get a manny fight?

So try and divert from the main issue-manny refusing-to some ridiculous justification. Typical.
Why didn't manny just say yes like floyd did when manny asked for $10 mil per lb overweight fee?
Manny not calling his bluff was for the same reason you don't call people's bluff when playing poker-he was afraid floyd had the better hand. Manny always calls the bluffs of lesser fighters.

this guy keeps assuming had pacquiao vowed down to all of tbe's demands, the fight would have happened. it won't. even froidweather's testing issues in the first negotiations were just meant to delay the fight. the real issue was money. which is why he spent time to consult with don king. and later, tbe was demanding $100 million guarantee.
like i always say. pac's mistake was not calling the duck's bluff from the very beginning. had he known that he was dealing with a terrified guy, pac would have done the right thing.
keep fooling yourself though.

It's just a roadblock so that Floyd can continue to cherry pick his opponents. Floyd is waiting until Manny is no longer Manny. Even 2014 Manny was not good enough for Floyd.
Before Manny, who had Floyd asked to take PEDs testing?
Before Manny, who had Floyd asked to join Mayweather promotions or no fight? Only Manny needs to do this.
Before Manny, who had Floyd fought only after they joined Mayweather promotions? Only Manny needs to do this.
Even objective Floyd fans threw in the towel when after all those years that it was about PEDs testing, Floyd brings up money roadblock only after Manny says yes to PEDs testing.
Time to make Floyd accountable.
Floyd said this:
"Does Manny want to fight me? Absolutely he does but I'm not desperate"
"Manny is the mandatory? He can have my belt ..."
.

Jmm didn't refuse to fight manny. He even left his promoter to get a fight with manny. Manny's unwillingness to do same is why he hasn't fought floyd.

Lol, youre still selling this hot garbage like its summer time i see, and still no one's buyin....steven a smith has given up, larry x has given up defending floyd's b1tchassness yet here u are all alone working overtime for some lost cause...jesus christ man, smarten up!
You not buying it doesn't make it any less true. Typical manny fan-deny, deny, deny. Never hold manny accountable.

Difference is that by the time that fight happened, Marquez had several fights under his belt at 140 and 147. Marquez didn't get that luxury when fighting Floyd.
Other difference is that Marquez did something 4 times where Floyd couldn't get himself to do it not even once. Fight Manny! Floyd will fight Manny when he sees Manny is no longer Manny.
BTW - Besides performance, I meant Marquez's physique. Marquez was flabby against Floyd but looked super solid and bigger than Manny when he fought Manny. At least his upper body
.

Here's a thought for some of you guys .......
By the logic of this thread .... And I'm straining to grasp it :lol1: Here is a list of legitimate opponents for GGG:
Arthur Abraham
Robert Stieglitz
George Groves
James DeGale
Carl Froch
When you guys can justify why GGG isn't targeting these potential opponents, then and only then can you make a case for him to fight lighter guys.
i was gonna post this but couldnt' find the video, roger saying yea floyd could fight at 160, he could come in at 155 or something, skills win fights etc
golovkin would be very small at 175, guy is well into his 30's and seemingly comfortable at 160, probabley move up soon who knows, he'll be smaller at 168 already, but at 175 he'd be very undersized by guys much heavier and longer, wether he can compete with his skills alone, sure, but i still think he'd be making everything very hard on himself at that weight
Floyd's team have said that Floyd can make 160 and boasted that he can fight even guys at 175. So let's see that happen.
I'd like to post some remarks made by GGG's trainer, that hints at the natural weight GGG CAN fight at comfortably.
U
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/boxing/bernard-hopkins-to-seek-bout-with-gennady-golovkin-if-he-wins-saturday-203510534.html
Abel Sanchez, Golovkin's trainer, said he would have no problem with the fight for his man, even though it's two weight classes about where he normally competes. He said it would be up to Golovkin's management and promotional team to decide if they want to fight Hopkins, but he said he thought it would be a good fight for Golovkin.
"From my standpoint, I would love it," said Sanchez, who turns 59 on Saturday. "I think it's a good fight for Gennady. We'd like to negotiate and hopefully get it at 169, 170, but if we have to fight full light heavyweight , no problem. That all has to be talked about and negotiated and everything, but if they ask me as his trainer 'Can he do it?' and 'Do you like the fight?' I'd say yes to both of them. No question."
Peter Nelson, the vice president of programming for HBO Sports, confirmed to Yahoo Sports that Hopkins wants the fight. Asked if HBO was interested in the bout, he grinned.
"Who wouldn't want to see that fight?" Nelson said.
Golovkin is 31-0 with 28 knockouts and is rapidly garnering attention as one of boxing's best overall fighters. But he's fought no one nearly as good or nearly as slick as Hopkins.
Hopkins needs first to get past the power-punching Kovalev on Saturday, which is no sure thing. Kovalev is about a 2-1 favorite.
But should Hopkins prevail, it could set up one of the most intriguing bouts for the first part of 2015.
"Absolutely, we'll try to do that," De La Hoya said. "Bernard wants Golovkin and it's my job to deliver the big fights, so we'll do everything we can to make it."
Now if anyone should know what a fighter can and cannot do in terms of carrying weight and being effective, it is the trainer. I'm puzzled how the above mentioned statements can be made in one direction, yet be something totally different in another.
GGG is too heavy and too big for anyone campaigning at WW .... Period!!!
Guys can spin this till they turn blue in the face, but there is no legitimate reason for anyone lighter than 160lbs to even try and fight GGG. As someone already stated "There are weight classes for a reason" and as GGG's trainer stated, while discussing a potential match-up with B-Hop .... GGG can go as high as 170lbs+.
I Remember When Your BIGGEST cheer was, "size don't win fight, skills do". 154 would be perfect.
I'd like to post some remarks made by Floyd's trainer, that hints at the natural weight Floyd CAN fight at comfortably. :D
Roger Mayweather: Floyd can fight at 175 :beerchug:
"He might fight at 160, but there has to be enough money. (If there's) enough money, Floyd might jump to 175-pounds....

Below is in reference of Floyd moving up to 160 to fight Martinez

***8220;Weight doesn***8217;t win fights, skills do,***8221; Roger pointed out. ***8220;If weight won fights James Toney wouldn***8217;t have become the heavyweight champion of the world. Michael Spinks wouldn***8217;t have become the heavyweight champion of the world. Skills pay the bills. Anytime a guy has weight, sure it makes things a little harder but fights are won by skills. Floyd is the most skilled fighter in the sport, period.***8221;
