Want to ask why Guerrero, Ortiz & Maidana was more deserving than Amir Khan?
Why Floyd hasn't fought someone as quick as Amir Khan or something as pathetic as the number of followers on his Twitter? Post it in here!
Want to make a thread about how many turned up at his wedding? How an elderly woman down the Road knew who Khan was but not Froch? Post it in here to save spamming NSB with the same repetitive nonsense that nobody but the three of you give a f*ck about! :headbang:
Watching Khan go down from left hooks from Garcia, Diaz, and Prescott... its only reasonable to envision Khan getting check hooked and falling into the ring post a la Hatton.
Mayweather and Pacquiao make Khan their B1tch.

Mayweather Literally could Knock him out. If he could knock out Ortiz, He could KO Khan.

It's hard to find Amir Khan Memes

I wince when I'm watching Khan fight. Sure his chin has improved over the years but there's nagging feeling that if he gets caught at a bad angle he'll drop real bad. I like the guy as an athlete but Mayweather will make mincemeat out of him.

Were these actual threads?

OK you make some good points and I actually agree with most of what you have written.
I just feel that Khan did receive a lot of advantages post Prescott which helped him maintain a level until he ran into Peterson.
His defeat by Prescott was absolute, within 90 secs or so. My point is that yes, anything can happen inside a boxing ring and anyone can get KO'd but how many prospects get another shot after such a decisive defeat?
Like I said, I give him credit for Paulie and Maidana, but not for Barrera, Kotelnik or Judah.
My reason being that Barrera was way past prime and cut badly from a head clash, Kotelnik and Judah were on the downside of their careers.
So, to conclude - Khan IMO did have some luck, though he never asked for it and made the most of some talent.
He is still trading off the hype for years back IMO.
Peace brother.
That's fair enough pal, only bothered to debate it with ya because i knew you weren't one of the usual 'tards on here who aren't worth bothering with.
You use Floyd and Manny as if they are world class, they are higher than world class they are the elite, if your gonna judge everyone around those two then you'll be hating for a good while yet.
Khan's last five fights, yeah the only one worth mentioning is Garcia, a world class fighter and top dog at 140. Is that not world level? Yeah he got his ass kicked but thats part and parcel of what happens when you come up against world class fighters, losing is a possibility. The others have been comeback rebuilding fights after being flattened in 4 rounds, all to a very respectable world level operator in Devon Alexander.
Same **** with everyone else Sky Sports hype, just look at Anthony Joshua now. Just look at Price before that. Just look at Luke Campbell now. There's been many examples before and there will continue to be so in the future.
Oh he had limitations!? Surely not. Name me one fighter today apart from Mayweather that doesn't have limitations? Get real. Take your mind off of boxing forums for a split second and transfer over to the real world, Boxers aren't perfect, 99.9% of them have limitations, some more than others and some who can live with them better than others.
One of Khan's limitation was a glass jaw. That we found out from very early on his career from him being dropped by the likes of Willie Limond and co. Khan wasn't the perfect boxer, a shocking revelation was sent down.
No chin, no inside game, no tactical judgement? I agree. Also horrible defense, horrible ring smarts and a few other things i can't be arsed thinking about. That makes his achievements even the more better. To beat the likes of opponents he has and become a world champ even with those flaws makes them all the better.
My point being he was something different, someone who appealed to a new market for British Boxing. So it's understandable is it not that Sky Sports would hype him up even more given he was the first British Pakistani to win a Olympic medal?
Khan is a very flawed fighter and i totally disagree with the way he's begging for a Mayweather fight and don't think he has earned the fight with Mayweather but he's a world level fighter and has certainly earned that himself. In no way shape or form is he ''lucky'' to have the career he has. He's earned through the hard work and talent and by proving he can operate at world level which is why he's the world famous boxer he is today.

Looks at Khan's last 5 fights - ask yourself if he has performed like a 'World Class' fighter on the same level as Floyd, Manny or even Timmy.
I remember the hype around Khan at the 2004 Olympics - it was way out of context. Listen to any Sky Sports commentary - all you hear is the commentator literally ejaculating every time Khan throws a combo.
I give Khan credit for his wins over Maidana and Paulie, but after Prescott beat the **** out him inside one round everyone in boxing knew he had limitations.
Khan can re-invent himself and change trainers as much as he wants, he can tell the world how truly great he is etc - but he has no chin, no inside game and no real tactical judgement.
IMO Khan has done exceptionally (at LW and Jnr WW) well given his obvious limitations.
Finally when you say that the hype was understandable because he was a UK Pakistani, can you qualify that for me?
