George Groves says Gennady Golovkin could move down in weight to face Floyd Mayweathe

Its funny how as soon as the thought of GGG moving down to jr middleweight comes up, lineal and 3x jr mw champion Floyd Mayweather becomes a tiny welterweight. Lol Well Floyd is a small WW regardless of who's name comes up. We know he's 150 on fight night. I think it's funny that people like yourself akways bring up that he's got the belts on paper like that means something. I would be open to seeing this fight. It would finally be a challenge for Floyd. Floyd fought Marquez who went up 2 weight classes, why can't he do the same? Also Sugar Ray Leonard fought Duran who went up 2 weight classes, yet no one disparages him for it because it was still a challenge. I don't see why GGG should be criticized for doing it, and he's willing to go down a weight class to meet him half way there. ODL went all the up to Middleweight to fight Sturm AND Hopkins. Sugar Ray Robinson went all the way up to Light Heavyweight to try to reach for greatness, he lost, but he went for it though. Henry Armstrong went up to Middleweight, lost but he went for greatness.

I think this would be an interesting fight. GGG is a good fighter. Only flaw I see is sometimes when he jabs he leaves his head open for a counter. I don't need to see Floyd fight Golovkin, it's not a fair fight. Gennady is way too big even if he sweats off an extra 6lbs. I've never considered Floyd a legit JMW, he only stepped up to the division for three high profile fights, twice against guys who were looking pretty shop worn and past their prime and the other for a guy who was still green. I'd consider him the top JMW if/when he went out and beat more than a couple fighters with different styles - Lara, Kirkland, or Andrade. But he's not a legit JMW so I don't really care if he does prove himself at JMW. Instead I'd like to see him start fighting top WW's like Brook, Bradley & Thurman and knock off this Amir Khan bs.

Floyd could fight GGG, but Floyd always ducks a challenge. Floyd fans say you cant duck someone who is 2 divisions above you? Well you can challenge people 2divisions above you. JMM challenged Floyd didn't he? RJJ fought Ruiz didn't he? Because they like a challenge and don't duck it. Floyd does. Under normal circumstances GGG wouldn't want to move down in weight, but the name FLoyd just so happens to be one division lower, and it if takes moving down one weight to get the fight GGG is willing to do that.
