I think BJS by decision. HUGE step up for Jr, and as good as i think he is/will be, this fight is a bit premature for him. I can't believe he's fighting on the Paul Butler card at the weekend against a TBC. The risk of injury is not worth it. Eubank Snr and Frank Warren should be pulling the fight at the weekend.
Thoughts?
Chris Eubank Jr by stoppage between the 6th-8th round. He's the more talented fighter. He has the better defense, better punching power and he has fast hands. BJS is going to get a horrible wake up call after all the trash talking he has been doing.
Saunders is far more accomplished both as an amateur and professional and he's done quite well. That said, Eubanks didn't have to take this fight, he and his dad could've stayed the course with easy fights and built his record up more and taken a fight like this for alot more money later in his career. The fact that they're taking it now likely means they believe they can win this. They've seen all of Saunder's fights and they've seen Eubanks against a variety of tough fighters in sparring, I'm going on a limb and trusting their insights and I'm picking Eubanks for the upset. I'm hoping for a star to be born.
Also, will the winner of this be mandatory for Korobov-Lee?
You never seen Ryder?
_____________
BJS beats Eubank Jr on points. Firstly, BJS will outbox Eubank Jr if given the chance. BJS does not like being pressured, see Ryder & Blandamura, his stamina isn't that good.
Eubank Jr has never gone past 8, off the top of my head I cannot remember how he looked at the end of an 8 rounder, where as BJS has gone 12 rounds 5 times. Flip a coin is an apt phrase for this fight, I ain't too sure in my pick. I'm just excited to see a competitive fight.
Win, lose or draw - we'll find out a lot about Eubank Jr in this fight. I'm really looking forward to it and the card it's on (Fury vs Chisora II).
I´ve seen pretty much everyone of his fights in the last couple of years. Never really been impressed.
Sure, he can punch, but I dont see anything else that´s special about him. Even though he´s fought crap opponent, i´ve seen a lot more from Eubank jr than I have from Ryder in terms of ability, plus he also did the bizz to Froch in sparring (or at the very least held his own).
Logic says BJS will win, but I think Eubank is a tough cat, and not as bad as someone here make him out to be.
I can't see anything but a win for BJS.
He has more experience at a higher level and is pretty sound technically.
The problem with Eubank is the lack of work-rate, he has coasted through most of his fights under no pressure at all.
Given BJS mind set around Eubank I would not bet against a stoppage within 6 rounds either.
If the fight goes ahead on the 29th we will find out exactly what Eubank Jnr is in terms of quality.
I will go with BJS in a tricky type fight and quite messy. Might not be as exciting as we think, they both might be cautious.
Eubank hasn't fought and beat anyone, but doesn't mean to say he cant beat anyone. THe fact that he has clearly won all his fights quite comfortable is saying something though at the very least.
So its going to be tougher than BJS is hoping for im afraid to say for BJS.
It's a risky call as he's fought literally nobody but I'm gonna go with eubank, just not convinced saunders is all that whereas I think jnr has potential
Have to pick BJS based on their careers so far.
Eubank JR is something of an unkown quantity though. Hes been sparring and training with the absolute best, but fighting bums and clowning around while doing it.
BJS has the more 'big' fight experience though and is a more rounded fighter.
