Weird question I know but Tyson was the best heavyweight in a weak division. Put Wilder in a time machine where there is no Mike Tyson how do you think he would stacked up against Tyson's opponents?
That George Foreman 1,2 from 92' would have had him convulsing on the ground. It would be terrifying to watch...
He went 6 rounds with a tow-truck driver who was tagging him, last fight.
Was it Bernese from Treemont

I mean damn come on people this man fights like a girl..he throws windmill punches for crying out loud....
Whenever I watch him fight I think of all those guys who think all of the good American heavyweights went to the NBA.
He fights like an NBA player who went through some intensive 1 month celebrity boxing camp.
I hope he makes me eat my words and turns out to be a killer but I just don't see him surviving a legitimate opponent with his crude deliberate punching.
I think he would have KO'ed just about everybody to be fair and realistic.
He would have smashed Holmes out to bits, Tucker and Tubbs etc were good fighters but they never seen anything quite like Wilder.
I think Tyson himself would have got him though!
Tony Tucker would have beat the hell out of Wilder
If Wilder had fought in that era, he'd beat the same quality of stiffs he's been beating. How he competes against a legit contender in any era is still a mystery. I certainly can't pick him over a Ruddock or Morrison until he beats even a Tony Thompson level of fighter. It's pretty poor when after 30 pro fights a Kevin Johnson or Dominick Guinn would still be a step up fight.
He hasn't even fought A single "contender" in this era yet lol.
I hope he is the real deal because I'd love to see another American heavyweight but I think guys like Razor Ruddock would have crushed him easily. Bowe, golota,Lewis etc....he reminds me of Micheal Grant at this point...lots of knock out and big and intimidating but once he stepped in with the real deal he got completely embarrassed.

I don't think he would of fared well at all.
I'm not even sure he will fare too well in this average modern area of HW's. He still hasn't faced anyone of note yet.
I can imagine if Wilder had fought Carl Williams or Alex Stewart, it would have been fun to watch and competitive. I don't see Wilder having much success with any of the top guys of that era. Honestly I don't see him lasting one round with a prime Mike Tyson.
Which Tyson era? The early "young phenom" Tyson era was absolutely dismal and Wilder would have been a top contender if not a champion.
Later on not so much. Lewis would have killed the guy and 10 others would have embarrassed him.
Agreed 100% :)
He would have never made it out of his first sparring session alive. They would have murdered him for daring to set foot in the gym, because every fighter that laced them up was incredible.
Back in the 80's, fighters used to cut down entire trees with their penises. Daily.

he'd have to spend time fighting professionallly in the lower ranks to learn to fight. otherwise, he isn't even making it to contention.
the contenders / champions would have croaked him.
can you imagine deontay wilder vs riddick bowe? wilder vs lewis? wilder vs holyfield?
he'd get f#cking killed.
oh yeah, I missed Bowe. Golata would cripple him.
