Is it an unwritten rule for fans of a certain styles to hate on certain fighters?

For instance it's pretty easy to pick up on who will immediately hate on fighters like Kovalev and GGG and those type of guys who come to fight. And in case it wasn't obvious enough, it's the "bidniss first/Haymon is our Lord and Savior" type of fans who actively hate on them. In their minds running around the ring like a ballerina dancer is "real boxing" so they refuse to give credit to big punchers. Perhaps you could also say it goes the other way too. That fans of big knockout punchers are more critical of boring feather fisted guys like Rigo, Ward, Floyd and Bhop. I find this to be true to an extent, but from my experience fans of GGG, Kovalev and other big punchers tend to have a wide array of styles and fighters they support. Whereas fans of "technical boxing" refuse to give ANY credit whatsoever to these big punchers and do nothing but call them "hype jobs" and accuse them of PED use or loading their gloves. I don't know about you, but I'm immediately able to determine who will be hated by which certain fanbase almost spontaneously. Is it just a case of natural selection? Do you find yourself falling into one of these categories?

You can appreciate all styles but not being a fan of any one particular style does not make you any less of a fan of the sport. That's like saying that you're not a true fan of hip hop music if you dont like every single artists music. True. The same can be said of following just 1 or a few boxers. In team sports, most fans don't follow every team in the league. That would be too time consuming following a lot of boxers and all their fights.

No, this is a corny and laughable myth that is routinely trotted out by floydgimps as some lame form of boxing snobbery and as an embarrassing attempt at covering up their lack of knowledge and respect for the sport. The truth be told, any boxing fan with a brain and a genuine love of the sport can appreciate all styles. Its pretty obvious what drives the motivation of the posters you have mentioned. They support fighters based purely on the colour of their skin. BigDunn, HanzGrumber, WESS, arraamiss, Assassin#1 among a few others. I've never said anything like that about ggg or kovalev. No one on NSB has talked more about ggg's skillset than me. I said he is right below floyd, ward, Rigo and JMM. You are critical of boxers and non white fighters and as usual are trying to point the finger at floyd fans. Of course this thread will get a lot of traction here on NSB. Let's hope the mods address this thread properly as they do all race bait threads made by alts of posters who have been banned.

Matthysse was billed as this menacing beast who was supposed to decapitate a Garcia who according to most posters here isn't that good. How did that work out? Don't make me bump some of those stupid Garcia Matthysse threads. Lucas has 0 elite wins. He's beaten nobody, Peterson is decent at best. GGG and Kovalev are still unproven. We have yet to see what they look like against elite competition. I'm going to see GGG because I can. So now they're no longer overrated hype jobs, rather they're unproven. Ok I see your point now.

Pot meet kettle...big punchers are always overrated, especially on this site i.e. Lucas Matthysse. Why does it even matter what style a fan likes?
