Hopkins vs Kovalev is November 8th and I thought I'd take a look at "The Krusher" in advance of this big showdown.
Here's a link to what I wrote. If any of you are bored or interested in the fight or both, then please have a look:

Thanks. That was a great article. I think that Hopkins has all the experience and skill to take Kovalev apart - in the same sense that Walcott had all the skill and experience to take Marciano apart. What is interesting is - does Kovalev have the mental will to walk down Hopkins after being continually frustrated, missing clean shots and being countered? Is he prepared to be losing in the 9th round and still have what it takes to put a beat down on Hopkins?
And - of course - is this the fight where Father Time catches up with Hopkins as well? I don't really see Hopkins being KOed but I can see him not answering the bell for the next round.
Good read. I'm not sure it's going to be a "hit and not get hit" guy who beats Kovalev as you suggest.
I think it will be someone who can take his shots and fire back with power to back them up eg. Beterbiev/Stevenson, same goes for Golovkin.
If you look at the rounds Golovkin had issues with Rosado, rounds 4 and 5 it's when Rosado stood his ground, same with Stevens. They ultimately lost, but they got into the fight.
Obviously Kovalev and GGG are two different fighters but you rightly point out they don't look so good moving backwards, although I argue Kovalev has better movement on the backfoot than GGG. Golovkin probably has the better chin.
