Rate this year in boxing

Year was pretty whack.

6/10 there are always good fights throughout a year but overall a big step down from 2013.

Worst year of the 21st century. I thought we were back in 2006 with all the mismatches.

2013 was one of the best years. This year gets a 2/10 - All the postponements, fights not being made, bad decisions, stupid stoppages have made this the worst year I can recall. Absolutely sucked overall but it has been a great year for British boxing! Hopefully the year ends with a bang. Expecting stinkers but at least there is a few awesome fights lined up. Things can only get better.

Hardly any meaningful fights in 2014. Canelo/Lara was one of the few important fights all year.

From a sophisticated financial perspective this year has been a downer.. Floyd hasn't broken 1 mil buys in either fight Showtime is about to go bankrupt Manny has made barely enough money to cover the interest payments on his loans that he took out to give to charity Al haymon still a baller, but is worried about a hostile takeover from mr. Knowles Marquez wants money and a welter title but only if it means he doesn't fight manny Fat dan is still fat

2014 Boxing is the fat girl you pull at the end of the night after drinking 12 pints. 4/10 and that's probably generous.

Boxing fans are the sporting equivalent of the abused girlfriend/wife.

2013 was easily a 10/10, 2014 has been f.cking awful. 5/10

This year has been horrible, utter sh1t

It's been the absolute drizzling sh*ts. Hbo did give us Froch-groves 2 Kovolev-Hopkins Serg-cotto Crawford-gamboa Doanire-Walters Not sure why you think they are inactive Might have something to do with the fact that they've not run a single show in over two months.

Watered down era..

4/10, too may good fighters inactive due to issues that has nothing to do with Inside of the ring: Mikey Garcia, Andre Ward, Chavez Jr... Froch groves was sweet,, I forgot about that But with Floyd and manny both not in any blockbusters Ward is missing in action Rigo cant land a meaningful fight Mares pretty much did nothing Danny Garcia hasn't done much Mikey Garcia is missing in action Stevenson hasn't done anything Ggg can't land a big fight Cruiserweight champs won't unify Have to wait til November to get the first big heavyweight fight of the year Lightweight is filled with boring fighters No roman-Estrada 2 Ali raymi is getting dodged left and right

6/10 only decent PPV, not many great fights. with many rumors going around i hope next year will be better.

4/10 Slightly below average Too many soft touches and not enough compelling fights Lara-canelo Hopkins-kovalev Walters-donaire Those are really the only three really interesting fights of the year

I also forgot to mention in my previous post that 2014 is closing out strong with some very solid match ups being made in the last quater. GGG vs Rubio Donaire Walters Hopkins Kovalev Crawford vs Beltran Reveco vs Vor Saengthep Yamanaka vs Sor Rungvisai Bradley vs Chaves Tanaka vs Hara Gradovich vs Velez Farenas vs Pedraza And we would've seen Rosado vs Kirkland, but bum ass Kirkland pulled out.

Not even that bad. 2013 was a monster year though. I'm personally looking forward to November B-Hop/Kovalev Pacman/Algieri Crawford/Beltran Fury/Chisora II Bellew/Cleverly II :boxing:

Cotto/Martinez Gonzalez/Yaegashi Pacquiao/Bradley Mayweather/Maidana I Algieri/Provodnikov Froch/Groves II Stiverne/Arreola Crawford/Gamboa Crawford/Burns Porter/Brook Canelo/Lara (got two fighters hardcore fans wanted to fight) Golovkin demolition demos + Rubio fight soon to happen Crawford/Beltran *soon to happen Donaire/Walters *soon to happen
