In fact the main users are ultra-left wing white guys trying to be "down with African-Americans" (cringe) and are worried just calling them American by itself or black by itself would get them beat up. I've only seen white nationalist websites ask to be called "European-American". True. Its always the ultra liberal folk who are often most offended, yet they are usually the least likely to be target of any kind of prejudice.

I didn't see the full convo but I've never understood the label 'African-American'. Why is there no label European-American? It would have some logic then. It seems like if you're white you're American but if your black you're African-American. U know whats worse? If I hear a black guy call himself African-American just in a conversation on the street I would bet he was racist. Only the media labels people in such a dumb sh*t way, my parents were born in Cuba and Puerto Rico. I was born in the US and you know what, I'm American not latino-american or some f*cking label.
