Man, Morales was like Fuk this sh1t! lol. This is one of the most brutal non stop attacks, like a swarm of killer bees, Morales threw some hard azz counters and Pac ate them, but didn't stop coming forward. This is what you all beast mode.
I miss this Pac, no mercy, when he hurts you rocks you just a little bit he goes into full on beserker mode until he basically knocks you out or you quit. He could have did this to Bradley all those times Bradly would just rest on the ropes, Pac used to tee off on guys who would lay on the ropes, now he doesn't he will throw a flurry and back away.
We had no idea what we were getting with Pacquiao at that time.
Dude literally just showed up on HBO and went through 3 Mexican HOF fighters in row.
Pretty crazy when you think about it.
Cotto quit on his knees after 11 rounds, Morales after 3 on his ass... but Cotto is the quitter? Trolling aside (though accurate) this was still my favorite version of Manny as well. Really, Manny before he became a jesus freak is always great fun to watch.
This was actually a much better Ricky, he was under Floyd sr, and coming off his best win, he out boxed and stopped Paulie Malignaggi. Hatton was able to confuse the slickster.
Ricky just came in over confident he came in prepared and hungry to knock pac out thinking Pac was just a small little man who beat ona drained Oscar, Pac gets full credit for disposing of a motivated and ferocious aggressive Hatton.
Hatton is a warrior, people can diss him but the guy goes out on his shield. That was back and forth action.
He had an awful training camp. He peaked too soon, Floyd Snr didn't train him properly, he was being trained by Lee Beard (that was his name iirc) more than him.
Regardless, I think Pac for a few years was an absolute savage in his absolute prime. I remember staying up till like 4/5am (UK) to watch that fight, borrowed my friends viewing box and it was over in 2 rounds. I just sat there, in awe of Pac. It seemed like everytime he hit Hatton, it affected him. He had so much speed, explosiveness and variety.
I believe Pac from the DLH fight until the Margarito fight, could have beaten Floyd (2 year span). Floyd knew Manny was a serious threat, you can tell that by listening to his interviews (not that he would be BEATEN by Pac, Floyd is a fighter and has a huge ego too) and knew Pac would slow down or lose at some point too. I remember after the Cotto fight, how excited I was for the Pac-Floyd fight in 2010, a travesty that it didn't happen.
He got KTFO cold twice befor that. And came back. He's not coming back like that because he's OLD. He's been in wars for over a decade.
Blessed to have been around to witness a warrior like that.
It's different when you are 35. Pacs been in the game for a LONG time, there a number of factors that play in to it at this point.
Age/physical recovery - Your body just does not react the same way, when you're 35 compared to when you are 20-25.
Mentality - When you are young, you learn things quicker, you have still a lot to learn. Pac at 35, can only adjust his game so much. He was improving fight after fight until I'd say 2009/2010, then he hit a slow decline (at 30/31) which makes sense, his style is made for a young man and especially with how long he has been doing it for it takes a toll on you physically and mentally.
Hunger - The guy has made millions, got the fame and had the women. He's just a different place in his life right now. He's proven to the world, how great he is for years. You have some fighters who are iffy, so many maybes surround them. Pac's legacy is set in stone at this point but he continues because he loves Boxing and has some element of hunger (despite it not being what it was).
I always found it weird how Pacquiao gets lifted to celebrated then the guy grabs his attention and tells him to get to the corner to pray and manny immediately runs to the corner and kneels. Wth was that all about?
HBO director spazzing out and screaming at the camera man to get the Manny praying shot I guess. Looks really weird alright. HBO fucked up.
It was like a Lion finishing off his prey, thats what you are supposed to do.
Morales was still throwing hard bombs the weight issue was just ane excuse, he still looked fresh and strong, only thing is he knew he couldn't withstand anymore of that for 12 rounds and basically said F it. He hits Pac hard as hell here and that is when the tide because he thought to himself fuk I just hit him with my hardest punches and he still coming at me? the tide changed he knew he couldn't keep Pac off him like he was able to do in the first fight.
Years after this when Morales was super shot and slow and old and inactive he put on a boxing clinic with one eye shot against a prime Maidana, he even hurt Maidana bad and got jipped on the cards. He also gave Prime Danny Garcia a hard go in their first fight and even staggered him.
It shows how great Morales is.
in the third fight morales was definitely drained

Floyd Sr did nothing for Ricky except confuse him, and show up late for training to go to the drive through.
You rate Malignaggi above Castillo and Tszyu?
I really don't think this was the best Ricky. Yes he goes out on his shield, but Ricky used to soak up punches like a boss- this fight even glancing blows were wobbling him. His punch resistance and confidence were gone.

His best win? I used to think you believed what you wrote.
That was a tough fight to watch. Ricky was a shell of himself. I'd like to think a pre-Floyd Ricky would have faired a lot better- he would have probably still been KTFO, but not in round 2, and not floored twice in round 1. Ricky just looked like he didn't want to be in there, and had no punch resistance. Ricky's second favourite thing was blocking shots with his face pre-Floyd. That wasn't the Ricky that wore down Kostya Tsyzu.

Thanks!
It's funny how Money May fans always say the exact lines Mayweather says. He's like their quote machine, but they have trouble copying whatever Floyd said in that video
All a bunch of nonsense from all people and you don't know sh*t about boxing.
This right here is the best version of Pacquiao:

Yes imagine if all boxers were like Floyd and Ward.
Boxing would be all but dead.
MMA would completely take over...
...in the U.S. at least.
Funny thing is, PAC did more to revitalize the sport of Boxing in the U.S. than Floyd ever did, with Floyd arguably having the opposite effect on the sport in his own country!
The sport is fine without Tyson and Pacquiao. Fans are not interested in exciting matches. They prefer watching people throw as few punches as possible but score high percentages on compubox.

PAC truely was a BEAST back then, it was a very exciting time for fight fans.
The future of Boxing looked promising... wtf happened?
Oh yea... a certain "duck" came back from "retirement", continued avoiding PAC while claiming to be #1, and generally put the audience to sleep with his fights.
This "duck" still became very successful (mostly from people wanting to see him lose) and now everyone's trying to emulate that success with this boring, safety first, cherrypick to stay undefeated, low risk, max profit, prima donna bull****. New fight fans watch these new types of fighters and think "wtf is this? fk this im watching UFC".
Its gonna be a long time before we see another great champion like Manny again! Nobody has brought this much excitement to boxing since Mike Tyson!
