Say what you will about B-Hop, but he's truly a throwback fighter that never backs down from a challenge. Dude has done it the hard way. He's a former ex-con who has turned his life around and dedicated himself to his craft. I have so much respect for his journey, it was truly the school of hard knocks. The man is damn near 50 and is in better shape than most fighters half his age. He's truly maximized his potential. His next challenge will be against a guy that most thought he wanted no part of. I was so impressed when I heard B-Hop would be fighting the Krusher. I'll certainly be rooting for him to prove the doubters wrong yet again.
Anyone who pays attention knows I don't like Floyd Mayweather, but it does tick me off a little how people exalt Hopkins career as if it's so obviously better than Mayweather's. It's the other way around.
This isn't the thread for that argument though, so I'll let it be. Someone wants to argue, bump one of the threads about it.
It's absolutely insane how overrated he is on this site, like he hasn't taken losses to lesser competition than Mayweather's fought.
I luv bhop but u can pick his resume apart just like anyone else's. I guess Floyd is the only one who gets that treatment on here though

i respect what he does, can't say i'm a fan of windbag hopkins though. sick of his circus acts and the dude loves to hear himself talk. gets annoying when he has no sense of humor to go with it. salty dude with a chip on his shoulder, f*ck people like that.

Word. :boxing: A true luminary for the sweet science.
First off, the poster that thinks Hopkins juices? ridiculous, one look and one can see that Hopkins is not on the juice...and assertions of rascism and being a rotten human being are baseless....Like some of you have said, the guy picked himself up from his bootstraps.
The use of "white boy"just does not carry the weight of racial slurs that are inflammatory. Any adult knows this...Its just the way language is, not Hopkins fault. The Tito thing was ugly, but Hopkins apologized for that, we are allowed to do stupid things at times
Great thread
There will always be haters in bhop threads who are butthurt guys too lazy to get in shape.
He is either number 1 or 2 of this era and one of the greatest of all time.
He defies the odds every time he steps in the ring. He will defy the odds again.

What's to appreciate other than his alleged clean healthy life? He's refused drug testing on numerous occasions, in fact he's not doing any for his fight with Kovalev. He fights very dirty, uses his head, elbows, and illegal inside fighting. To top things off he's extremely boring and is constantly crying for fouls all while thinking he's some boxing maestro or something. Do I even need to mention his bigotry and racism? "I would never lose to a white boy."
Not only did you lose, he straight embarrassed you. All I can say is good riddance after Kovalev does what he does best against Hopkins.
Watch him go on and accuse Krusher of steroids after he gets BTFO.
You can be both. There isn't a fighter that wasn't a bit of an opportunist. What are your thoughts on the Kovalev match up?
You're right on both but I just don't see Hopkins as one from the both sides.
My thoughts? Well I like Kovalev but he isn't all that. The division is just hyped up into something that isn't. Hype changes the perspective on a lot of people's minds.
