Ok.. what happened to Andre Dirrel?

He flopped down to the canvas to get the DQ against Abraham, which was ****ing embarrassing. Then he ducked Andre Ward by pretending to still be injured, which he refused to provide documentation for. Fans hate his guts for it and no one is interested in hearing his bull****. **** this guy. Damn Harsh but some of that may be true. Kinda reminds me of Kermit Cintron a little.

So many people think he faked the Abraham shot, and I just can't believe that. He would have to be one of the most mentally weak world class fighters ever to deliberately shelve himself with a fake injury for like 2 years. Then, of course, he left Haymon for 50 Cent, which accounts for the last couple of years. I don't know what he has at this point, but Dirrell is incredibly talented. I'd love if he could come back at least near his former potential. I like your posting style Bo and have respect for you but Andre Dirrell faked the Abraham foul.No way was he that severely hurt.Those tears were cringe worthy

I think he was really affected by the aftermath of the Abraham fight. His Super 6 experience was so unlucky. He outboxes Froch in enemy territory but doesn't get the decision, he clearly won that fight IMO. Next as he is outboxing the tournament favorite in the 2nd fight (even dropped him), it again ends in a very unsatisfying manner. Then instead of getting credit for the performance, everybody focuses on whether he did or didn't fake the effects of an illegal blow. If you think about it, if he got the decision vs. Froch that he deserved and Abraham didn't hit him after he fell to the canvas, he would have been an undefeated WBC SMW champion with clear decision victories over Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch, and even Curtis Stevens. But we all know what happened instead. He ducks Andre Ward, exits the Super 6, dumps Al Haymon, and signs with 50 Cent. That would ruin anybody's career. His last 3 fights after Abraham have been on ShoBox, Unimas, and ESPN Friday Night Fights. His next fight next week is on ESPN again. Fortunately, he dumped 50 Cent and re-signed back with Al Haymon. So things is looking up for him a lot more than before. And the success of his brother only helps.

His career wasn't exactly going places before 50 Cent, Laz. There was that whole business after the Abraham fight. Then his unwillingness to fight Ward and the whole "Dr. Shaw Hi" thing.... While that video was kinda funny I don't get it. Did he lie about seeing a doctor after the Abraham fight? It just sounded to me that he couldn't remember the doctor's name. Most doctors nowadays seem to be Arab or non-American. It's hard pronouncing those last names. Maybe that's why he sounded so unsure of the docs name.

Think he just re-signed with Al Haymon. Had a fight a few weeks ago and won by KO. Will be hard for him to become relevant again. He is incredibly talented but doesn't seem to have the real desire to be champion. His brother is sh1t. Yea his desire must be very low. And yea, his brother will not make it far in boxing. Props to him for becoming champion but I don't see him being around for too long. His two fights with the African cat Bika worked better than sleeping pills.

Do people really believe the stuff about "neurological issues" after the Abraham fight?

he was out for a while with the injuries sustained from that cheap shot from abraham, then he signed with 50 cent who didnt get him any fights. since the abraham fight he made three separate comeback fights all except the most recent followed by long layoffs. each time he fought against solid but ordinary gatekeeper type opposition, each time he looked very good imo not losing a single round and scoring two KOs. dirrells ability has always been through the roof though, its a question if he can keep it together when things dont go his way. let me tell you, if he had the mentality of his brother or his brother had his skills and talent it would make for one of the very best p4p fighters in the world.

He seems too child-like to me. Decent talent but mentally very weak. Ehh, maybe. He seems to have matured a bit after his layoff though. He's working his way back up now. Stopped Vladine Biosse a few weeks ago, and he's got another fight next week with Nick Brinson. His post-fight interview after Biosse seemed like he had his stuff together, and he knew he needs to get everything in order and earn his way back to the top.

I'd love if he could come back at least near his former potential. There's no questioning his talent...it's ridiculous. His punch resistance though is another issue. And I thought he showed a lack of mental toughness in the latter rounds versus Froch. All that flopping etc. All in all, very disappointing.

Dirrell is a talented fighter with the IQ of an onion.
