So we all know Floyd likes to call himself "The Best Ever":lol1:.
Even most of his nuthuggers won't agree with him on that one...
...but, what would it take for YOU to consider him "TBE" or even a top 10 ATG?
For me, he would only have to win 2 fights. PAC & GGG. I would do a complete 180 and give him mad props if he did that. Now before you say GGG isn't feasible, remember Floyd has a title at 154 and GGG is more than willing and able to make 154 for Floyd, Canelo, or Cotto. He is also pretty small at 160, and Floyd already fought Canelo so why not GGG?
A TRUE ATG would be going after the BEST, to prove he is the BEST.
At this point? Nothing really, but he can move himself up a few tiers if he does the following.
-Beats Manny Pacquiao, more so if knockout occurs.
-Beats the current MW champion at the time with no CW. (Would be less regarded if it was Canelo though, Cotto or GGG are better legacy boosters).
-Beats Danny Garcia or Keith Thurman after they have both accumulated at least two or more solid wins at WW.
TBE, no, but if he was able to unify the WW division he's at least retire with every belt. Thats a big if, and more like never, to fight and win the belts of brook and pac.
For me - he would need to do simple things really - he's almost there...he's on the hump.
1. Build a time machine
2. Go back in time
3. Fight Margarito in 07, Cotto in 08 and Pacquiao in 09/10
4. Win those
5. Continue his career as already planned
6. Finish his career doing something pretty dangerous at this point, fight GGG, eff it.
You're saying it's impossible to build a time machine and wipe away the last 7 years?
1. At this point, fight a washed up Pac, fight washed up Cotto and then have a trilogy with GGG, if that, I'll put him in the same class as Hopkins as "ATBEITE"
Among the best ever in this era
Can that be a thing? Looks weird
Yea, I tried to edit the OP to add "or even a Top 10 ATG" since "TBE" is just
but it didn't change the actual thread title...
Oh, and how could there be a trilogy with GGG when Floyd would get brutally KO'd twice in a row? :lol1:
I don't think there is anything he can physically do at this stage ... he has missed his chance via a series of ducks over the years and he's not capable of say moving to 160 and beating GGG and he won't try anyway.
For me - he would need to do simple things really - he's almost there...he's on the hump.

For him to be a candidate for being considered the best ever he needs to be seen to be going out of his way and being pro active to be the best ever. We know Floyd is far from achieving this.
He goes out of his way to be considered a ducker and methodical and calculated in getting his own way before getting in the ring which is no way to behave in your legacy. He wont fight GGG or even Sergio, his fight with Canelo was at a CW, i mean Floyd is holding himself back and underestimating what he can do. So why wouldnt his critcis do the same?
whats floyds resume worth? and who is his best win. if you want to talk about what he's done then, those 2 questions should already make the claim TBE laughable, even downright insulting to those who are in or follow boxing.
Oscar, Mosley, Cotto - Except for one or two others, what you did was pretty much removed Floyd's supposed best opponents as far as resume goes. So YOU unintentionally proved that Floyd's resume is not that good! So please stop comparing Floyd's resume with those who fought all comers and have on their resume prime top quality opponents who presented them with HIGH RISK!
Your argument is weak and your comprehension sucks
Did I not say it's when you beat fighters, not just names
Odlh was at his best weight 165 in the ring with money...154 weight class and just won the wbc title....with pac ivs at 147 weighing less than pac fight night
Mosley kayoed margo prior to losing to may, where as pac fought him 2 years without a win
Cotto on a run @ 154 against may, against pac cotto controversially beat clottey and got a drubbing from marg right before
I bet you still dont get it....sad
there's at least as many fanboys as haters so the poll results are legit. I could name a slew of fighters who could have the same results if they cherry picked like mayweather has done. mayweather would have been eaten alive had he fought in the 70's n 80's in the leonard/hearns/hagler era. the best fought the best back then
so you cant name even one fighter! that's why he is TBE!
henry armstrong was the last fighter to be lineal at two weight classes simultaneously...that is why floyd is TBE..armstorng retired at 33 floyd is still going strong at 37..
Floyd should've never retired in 2007 while WW was hot; just saying...
Well this exactly. TBE, lol just GTFO Floyd ball lickers.

We all know mayweather will never take any risks regarding his 0. His reputation is laughable at best, inside and outside the ring. The sooner he retires, the better.
He can't be considered 'The Best Ever' and there isn't anything he can do from now till his impending retirement that will change that. He is a modern great, one of the best fighters of his generation, future first ballot hall of fame inductee etc...But he is not the best EVER...
If he fought Pac and GGG then yeah his legacy would greatly increase in a positive way, but realistically there isn't a chance of becoming the best boxer that ever existed with the current landscape and his time left in the sport.
